Chapter-16: At That Time

"Its almost been a week Zoe when are you and Jackson gonna talk about this?"

"I'll talk to him when I am ready", Zoey said taking clothes put of her wardrobe.

"Jackson is-"

"What? Jackson is an idiot!"

"I'm sure he didn't mean it like that"

"No Nora, he meant it exactly like that. He accused me of cheating on him and on what basis?", Zoey closed her eyes and took a deep breath, "Nora I don't mean to be rude but this is between Jackson and I and I'd like to keep that way. I don't want you to-"

"Sorry Zoey I didn't mean to invade."

"I know. I just don't want to talk about it right now. I am going to Bali tomorrow for a meeting and I don't want anything to ruin it."

"Jackson's in China by the way."

"What?"

"You didn't know?", there was a stretched silence

"Oh my god you guys seriously haven't talked or seen each other in a whole week?", Nora scoffed and Zoey rubbed her face.

"I'll talk to you after I come from Bali."

"How long are you there?"

"Three days"

"Please talk to him?"

"Bye Nora"

Zoey threw her phone on the bed and let out a frustrated sigh.

"This is exhausting", Zoey sighed rubbing her eyes.

She looked at Ghost who was sitting on the floor looking at her with his shiny puppy eyes.

"You want me to talk to him too? Fine! I'll talk to him when I come back!", he woofed and jumped on the bed sitting beside her.

"Let's sleep", she said getting in the bed and he sat on her back. Zoey checked her phone before going to sleep.

She was scrolling through her twitter when she saw a picture of Jackson.

"What time is Jinyoung arriving?", Zoey asked Hailey on their drive to the hotel.

"His flight lands at 1.30 PM", she said checking her planner.

"Great, tell the driver to bring him directly to the site. We'll head there after lunch?", Hailey nodded.

Zoey freshened up in her hotel suite and slipped into slouchy linen pants and a white cotton shirt.

After lunch Zoey and Hailey headed to the site.

The location was beautiful. It overlooked the ocean on one side and the greenery on the other.

"It feels-"

"Surreal", Jinyoung completed her sentence as he walked towards her.

"Hi!", she said smiling at him, "welcome to Bali!"

"It almost felt like a vacation until the driver brought me here", he whined.

"No rest for the wicked"

"You really need a break"

"My work is my nirvana", she said making him scoff.

"As if!", he rolled his eyes.
