Chapter 22: Zero

"What the fuck?", Jinyoung and Zoey got off the car and rushed to Nora's house.

"Where's Nora?", she asked Yugyeom as soon as she entered.

"In her room", she went straight to her room .

Zoey saw Nora sitting on the floor clueless.

"I feel like I'm having a nightmare", Nora said clutching her stomach. Her eyes were completely dried out.

"As if any moment now he'll wake me up", she finally looked at Zoey.

Zoey tried to touch her but she pushed it off, shaking her head lightly.

"I thought I'll finally have my happily ever after."

"He was supposed to be my forever", her voice finally cracked but her face void of any emotion, "But he decided to die"

"No", she gave out an empty laugh, "You know he died because of you Zoey.", Zoey flinched at her words.

Zoey did not say a word and controlled her tears because Nora was broken. She was in pain.

Her hands clutched Zoey's shoulders, "It should have been you and not him Zoey!", she finally cried, "I resent him for dying Zoey."

"I resent him for leaving us alone", she let out a heartbreaking cry and Zoey immediately embraced her.

At the sound of her cries the door opened and Zoey saw a distraught Jinyoung by the door.

She shook her head when he entered the room, his steps halted and he turned around leaving them alone.

"I'm sorry Nora", Zoey caressed her hair as Nora cried her eyes out, "I am so sorry", she hugged her even tighter.

Bam came to the room where they were in.

"Zoey the police is here, the detective wants to talk to you", he said and Zoey nodded.

"I'll be right back", she said and Nora nodded.

Zoey went to meet the detective.

"Ms. Zoey, I am detective Nate", he introduced himself and offered his hand to her and she shook it.

"I wanted to talk to you about a few things,in private"

"Sure, let's go to the study"

Zoey closed the door behind her in the study.

"Please have a seat Mr. Nate",

"Please, Nate is just fine, I'm not the one for formalities", he said as he sat on the chair across Zoey.

"Alright Nate, tell me"

"So Ms. Zoey do you have any idea that your house was broken into and Mr. Lim was found dead in your apartment"

"In my apartment?", Zoey was confused. She did not know that JB died in her apartment.

So that is why Nora said I should've died it rang a bell in her brain.

"So you are not aware of the fact as I can tell from your face", Nate said, "Mr. Lim was there between 5pm to 8pm until your houseworker found him laying in a pool of blood"

"I don't understand? Why would Jb go to my apartment in the first place?"

"That's what we are here for. To find out the truth. Whoever was in the house knew that you lived there and was there for you. Its just a theory as of now but I would request your cooperation until we find out who did this and why"

"You'll have my full cooperation detective. I want you to find out who did this to him"

"I intend to", he got up and so did Zoey, "Thank you for your time Ms. Zoey", they bowed to each other and Nate left.
