Chapter 20: Touch

The next day Zoey was waiting for Jinyoung downstairs lurking in the lobby. 

She saw him coming down the stairs waving at her with a bright smile on his face which made her smile as well but her eyes widened when she saw him slip down the last three stairs of the staircase.

"Oh my gosh", she sprinted towards him and bent down to check him.

"Ow!", he hissed keeping his hand at his back, "my back"

"That was funny but-"

"You're not helping", he said.

"Take my hand", he grabbed her hand and picked himself up.

"Are you okay?"

"I don't think so", he said keeping his hand on his back where the impact of the fall fell.

"Can you walk?", she asked wrapping her arm around his waist, giving him support so that he can walk.

"I think so", he said taking a step, "Ah-ah!", he hissed in pain.

"Looks like we have a doctor date now", she said playfully.

"Yeah", he pouted.

They were seated across the doctor's table waiting for him to finish examining the x-ray of Jinyoung's back.

"So?", Jinyoung asked the doctor as soon as he kept the X-ray down.

"In layman language, just a minor sprain in the back, nothing major. You'll live", he laughed, "I'll write you prescription of few painkillers you have to take and hot bottle massage for half an hour every night until the pain goes away", he wrote it down and handed over the prescription to him, "here you go"

"Can I go back to work?"

"You need to rest for today at least."

"But-"

"Thank you for your time doctor!", Zoey was quick enough to cut Jinyoung off.

"Take me back to office", he said sitting in the car.

"I'm taking you back home"

"What? I have to work Zoe!"

"You can't even walk properly and you want to go to work?", she gave him a condescending look.

"But-"

"No buts. We are going to your house so that you can rest."

"Fine! You're so bossy!", he threw a tantrum like a child and folded his arms.

Zoey rolled her eyes and drove off.

"Rest up Romeo, I'll see you later!", she said as she tucked him in the bed in his apartment.

"Can I at least get a kiss?", he pouted his lips and looked at her with puppy eyes.

She sat next to him and kissed him softly leaving him wanting for more.

"Miss me!"

"Just kiss me", he groaned and tried to kiss her but she was already out of his reach.

"Rest up & don't forget to take your meds", she said waving him bye from afar.

"Might as well go to sleep", he sighed.

Nora was waiting for Zoey in the cafe for lunch.
