Grabbing your laptop, you decided to search for popular spots in Gotham. After about an hour of searching, you made up your mind about where you wanted to go. The Siren's nightclub.
If you were being truthful with yourself, you weren't sure if you could handle going to a nightclub given your current state, but you were tired of being forced to stay inside. This ongoing battle with your mind had taken over your life. You couldn't stand to live like this any longer.
The first thing you did was put on a record. You choose Dream a Little Dream of me by Doris Day. A record that has helped you through your most difficult moments. 50's music was your favorite. Even though you enjoyed music from this era as well, there was something magical about 50's music that just couldn't compare to today.
While Doris was playing in the background, you choose your (F/C) dress that made you feel like a princess, giving you that extra boost of confidence that you needed. Next was makeup. You kept it simple. A red lip, mascara, and some foundation. After that was hair. You made the choice to keep your (H/L) (H/C) hair down. Letting it breathe from the usual ponytail or bun that you would restrict it in. Your transformation was complete. Looking in the mirror, you thought you looked absolutely gorgeous! You sighed to yourself and said, "You can do this." You grabbed your purse and made sure that you had everything that you needed inside. Most importantly, your medication and a small card with grounding techniques on it, to help calm you down. It had questions on it like what are five things you can see, four things you feel, three things you can smell, etc.
This was it. You were about to leave your apartment after being forced to stay inside for what felt like an eternity. You walked towards the door. You were breathing heavily, shaking, and began to feel weak as you reached for the doorknob. You weren't ready yet. You quickly made it to your couch, throwing yourself into a ball. A panic attack was set in motion.
An hour had passed and you wanted to try again. Walking towards the door, you reached for the doorknob apprehensively. You started to turn it and pull the door open. Your heart was pounding out of your chest but nonetheless, you walked down the long narrow hallway that lead to the lobby, leaving your familiar surroundings behind.
