Today is the day. In only a matter of hours, the city would be nothing but rubble. You were ready to be the queen of Gotham.

Over a period of half of a year, everything had fallen into place and was now ready for you. You were very confident about everything going well. The only thing that slightly concerned you was how you were going to deter the security guarding the safe room. You invested in some tear gas and a gas mask so you figured that would do the trick.

It was time to get ready. Right now, it was 6:00, giving you two hours before the bombs were detonated. That's what Ian told you anyway...he better not fuck this up.

You decided that you wanted to look the part and not just play it. You were a queen, right? Well that called for the most beautiful ensemble that you owned. Luckily, you have prepared for this. You couldn't help yourself from going on a little shopping spree weeks prior.

You laid out everything on you bed. You bought a red ball gown, long black gloves, and red bottoms. You put everything on and took a look in the mirror. A soft "wow" left your lips. You were ready to take on the world. It was now 6:30. You thought it would be best if you left early to give yourself plenty of time.

"Let's do this." You said, taking a final glance at your reflection.

Time skip to the entrance of the safe room at Wayne Enterprise.

Finding the safe room wasn't exactly difficult. It's common knowledge among staff and even more helpful...it's listed as one of the floors while taking the elevator. No one really even questioned you. Did you get some confused looks? Most definitely, but that was because of what you were wearing. A dress of this magnificence was sure to get some looks.

You were now standing at the entrace of the safe room. At a pretty good distance back of course. You were currently hiding behind a pillar of sorts. You took a peak around the corner to see how much security you had to tackle. Huh. There was only two men guarding the door. Okay, you could handle that. You took your gas mask from underneath your dress and were about to put it on until you dropped it. "Fuck" you whispered angrily to yourself. It made a very audible sound as it clattered onto the ground. There was no way that the guards didn't hear that. You took a deep breath and looked to see if they had moved any. Thankfully, they didn't. That's when you noticed, they weren't moving at all. You were close enough to them at this point to see if they even blinked and...they didn't. Their chests weren't moving either. They were completely frozen. You made a bold move that could possibly ruin your entire operation but you had to know what was wrong with them. You moved out from behind the pillar and yelled "Hey!" No response. You walked closer to them and started clapping sporadically. Nothing. You were now standing right in front of them. You picked up your foot and stepped on one of the guards. Not even a flinch. "What the hell?" You found it strange but shrugged it off and entered the room. That's when you saw a very familiar face standing by the window.

You squinted your eyes. Not believing what you were seeing. "Jervis, is that you?" He dramatically turned around and bowed. "The one and only." You couldn't help but laugh at his theatrics. You had to be honest. You didn't know how you felt about him being here. You wanted to do this on your own but you couldn't help but feel an odd sense of comfort now that he was here. "I'm assuming you did that?" You said pointing back at the guards. He walked closer to you and said, "You assumed correctly. The reason why I came back here was to make sure that nothing went wrong." His comment was bitter sweet. "You don't think I'm capable of doing this on my own?" "Of course I think your capable but I just wanted to make sure that you were safe." You sighed, smiled and said, "That's awfully kind." He took your hand and guided you to the wide, open window that over looked the city. "Isn't it beautiful?" You whispered. As you walked back to the middle of the room. Jervis turned to look at you and said "Yes, but certainly not as beautiful as you." Your face began to turn as red as your dress. You walked closer to him and laid your head on his chest, being able to hear his heart beat. Your hand was holding his. That's when he noticed. "You still wear that ring?" He said in a surprised tone. You looked up at him and said, "Of course. This is forever after all." He offered you his other hand to show you that he still wore his. You kissed him on the cheek. You couldn't help but still love this man. He has helped you through so much. You couldn't just throw all of that away.

(A/N: This is where the song falls into place! Play it if you would like.)

Breaking the sweet moment of silence, you looked down at your watch and said "its time." Jervis looked at you and nodded. Both of you made your way to the window. There was about a minute left until the new era of Gotham was about to begin. While still staring out the window Jervis whispered, "I'm very proud of you little rabbit. This city is about to be yours." A loose tear fell from your cheek. "It's about to be ours." You were so overcome with emotion. Happiness, pride, nervousness, You couldn't contain it all. Jervis noticed the tear on your cheek and gently wiped it away. He wrapped his arm around you. Ten seconds left. Your heart began pounding out of your chest. "This is for you Alice. No one will ever be in harms way again. I will make sure of it." You said in a low voice.

You touched the cold glass in front of you.

"Goodnight Gotham."

Boom.
