One hour before your first date with Jervis.
————————————————————
Tonight was your first official date with Jervis and holy shit were you tense. You were so scared that something would happen to discourage Jervis from pursuing any further relationship with you. Would you say the wrong thing? Look the wrong way? Play the wrong part? You supposed if he truly loved you like he said he did he couldn't be deterred so easily, but these thoughts were still in your head.

What to wear? That was the question at hand. You didn't want to be overdressed but you also didn't want to look too casual. You decided to go with a grey cocktail dress. It was cute and not over the top by any means. Perfect. As far as makeup was concerned you decided to go without it. This date was at your place after all. For hair, you put it in a bun letting two strands of hair fall at the side of your face. You looked in the mirror and let out a sad sigh. Your confidence was certainly not at its peak level. You were really looking forward to this yesterday but you couldn't say the same at this current moment.

You finished up getting ready and decided to relax on the couch to get your mind off of things for awhile. It was 6:45. Jervis wouldn't be here for another 15 minutes, giving you some time for a much needed cry. You let the tears flow, sobbing into your hands. You were really going to mess this up and let the most significant relationship that you've ever had just disappear weren't you? Your thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door. Was it Jervis? Oh god please no. He was 10 minutes early! You grabbed a tissue to wipe your face and shouted "one second!" While rushing to the door. You let out a few short breaths and turned the door knob. Sure enough, the love of your life was standing right in front of you holding flowers and a cream colored envelope with your name printed on it. As weird as it sounded, his handwriting was your favorite thing in the world. It was stunning to look at, especially since it was associated with your name. He had the most genuine smile on his face, truly happy to see you. But that handsome smile soon faded when he saw your red, puffy eyes and tear marks along your cheeks. He closed the door, walked in, and gently put his gifts for you onto your quaint coffee table. He hugged you. His arms were wrapped around you and his right hand was rubbing your back. Both of you stayed like this for awhile.

When he stepped back he grabbed your hand and led you to the couch. Both of you were now sitting down and facing each other. He spoke first, now holding both of your hands. "Why are you so upset my love? Did I do something to cause you such distress?" You shook your head no. "Of course not. If anything its myself, my mind I mean. I feel like I'm going to ruin what we have. Like I might do something that will mess it up. All of this just seems too good to be true. I love you with all of my heart and more. I don't want to loose you. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me." He sat there intently listening to you, eyes interlocking with yours lovingly. He began to speak. "I promise you right here, right now that there is absolutely nothing that you could do to tarnish our relationship. Except of course if there was unloyalty involved but you would never do something like that. I adore you, flaws included. The mind can be terrifying but I will be there for you every step of the way. Every challenge that you face I will be by your side, holding your hand and lifting you up." You felt better instantly. "Oh my god, I love you more than you will ever know." With that he kissed you on the cheek and guided you to your kitchen table. That's when your realized, you had nothing set up!

You started apologizing. "Jesus Jervis, I am so sorry. In the midst of everything I didn't even think of setting the table." He placed his hand on your shoulder. "I don't want you to worry about anything tonight. Allow me. I will get the tea ready. We don't need anything fancy. Just two mugs, some sugar, and each other." You let out a laugh and said "That was beautifully cheesy. Let me grab a vase for these flowers!" You grabbed a vase from the top cabinet and filled it half way with water. "Roses are my favorite! How did you know?" "Just intuition my dear." With that, you handed Jervis a pot to boil water in. "I apologize for the lack of a tea pot but this will do." He nodded while intently pouring water from the sink into the pot. He nerdily pulled out five tea packets from his pocket. "Do you just carry those around with you? You are certainly one in a million." "One has to be prepared when it comes to tea!" You both let out a chuckle. You looked at the tea packets laid out on the counter. There was Chamomile, Cinnamon, Lemon, Mint, and Earl Grey. "Hey, Earl Grey! I'll go with that." Jervis nodded, acknowledging your request.

You then made your way to the coffee table where the envelope that Jervis brought for you was promptly placed. You picked it up and walked back to the kitchen. "Can I open this now?" You asked him eagerly. He turned to you and said "Wait and open it during a time where you need reassurance." You nodded and went to put it on your nightstand in your room. By the time you walked out Jervis, a plate of sugar cookies, and two mugs of tea were waiting for you. A great night was ahead of you.
