Quick Note: Hey everyone! Just a quick disclaimer. I will be using poems in this chapter. These poems do not belong to me. You should definitely check out the authors Beau Taplin and Curtis Baskerville. They have some great pieces! Onto the chapter. Enjoy!

As you made your way into your apartment you noticed that there was a piece of paper slipped under the door. It was a little strange but you didn't think much of it. Unfolding the piece of paper, you could tell exactly who wrote it. Jervis. His handwriting was very distinct. You were about to rip it up and not even bother reading it but something told you that you should at least scan over what he had written. You let out an annoyed sigh as you began to read out loud.

Please forgive me for not being the perfect man;

Please forgive the fact that I am a human being and I do make mistakes but know that I am always willing to make them up and do whatever it takes.

Forgive me for breaking your heart.

Forgive me for putting doubt about us into your heart and mind.

Please forgive me for the manipulation and lies you have endured because of me.

Please forgive me my love for things I wish I could take back so dearly; know that I will always love you; I hope you can believe me.

You had to laugh. Did he really think that some words scribbled onto a piece of paper would make you run back into his arms and pretend that nothing happened? Not a chance, but anyhow you figured that you should return the gesture. You walked over to a pad of paper that you had sitting on your coffee table and ripped out a sheet. With a pen in hand, you started writing from the heart. The end product looked like this.

I forgive you. Not for you, but for me.

Because like chains shackling me to the past I will no longer pollute my heart with bitterness, fear, distrust, or anger.

I forgive you because hate is just another way of holding on, and you don't belong here anymore.

What you wrote was short but you thought that it got the point across.

There was one problem. How would you get this to him? You had just come to the realization that you had no idea where he lived. After all of this time, you still didn't know. It felt a little strange doing this but you figured that you should put the note in your mailbox, send him a text letting him know that it was in there, and then he could come and...pick it up? It was really dumb but this was the only way you knew how to get it to him. You shrugged your shoulders and sent him a text.

(Y/N): Hey. I put something in my mailbox for you if you want to swing by and pick it up. If not, I understand. See you around.

Not a minute later, you got a response back.

Jervis: I'll be there tomorrow.

While you had his attention you wanted to say your peace. As inappropriate as it was to do this over text, you were sure that this was your last chance to tell him how you felt.

(Y/N): While I have you here, I want to take a moment to speak my truth. As difficult as it is for me to say this, a part of me will always love you. I wish we could pretend that nothing happened and go back to the fairytale-like romance we once had but it would go against any sort of principles that I have. I care about you and want you to get the help that you deserve. Please, leave Gotham and start anew. I don't want you to get stuck in the middle of the chaos that is about to unfold. Thank you for allowing me to say my peace.

Jervis: (Y/N), I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. Telling you the truth was much more important to me then let you continue living in a lie. I couldn't live with myself if we spent the rest of our lives together with a great mistruth tethered to it, following us around like a grey storm cloud. I promise you that I will leave Gotham and receive proper treatment. You don't need to thank me, I will always be willing to lend an ear. I will see you tomorrow little rabbit.

A weight was lifted off of your shoulders. Now feeling content, it was time to get everything in order. A simplified version of your plan looked like this.

-Get a large sum of money.

-Steal a few generators from Wayne Enterprises.

-Build bombs using the energy from the generators.

-Destroy Gotham.

Easy! Yeah right. Boy, did you have your work cut out for you.
