Chapter Twenty.

You worriedly grasped onto the metal bars separating you and Jervis. You were now making eye contact with him. "Whatever do you mean mad? What's happened since the last the last time I saw you?" You said in a hushed tone. "My dear I have all too much to tell you. Five minutes simply won't suffice. All you need to know at this moment is that I will soon have Gotham city under my complete control and I want you to be by my side to watch it unfold. I want you to be the queen of Gotham and I the king." When he said this you just stood there, staring at him for about thirty seconds until you finally managed to say something. "Will people get hurt?" He took a stride toward you, getting as close as he possibly could and in a low voice said, "Not in the slightest my little rabbit. Just...altered is all." When he said this a loose tear escaped you and slid down your cheek. You were not upset per say, just very overwhelmed. It was clear that Jervis was a changed man. Both mentally and physically. He was now only a shell of his former self but you promised yourself that you wouldn't leave his side. The love that you had for him was truly unconditional. Nothing would ever change that.

He noticed your tear and wiped your cheek. "Why the tears Y/N? You're too beautiful to cry. Tell me, was it something I said?" You shook your head and said, "This is a lot for me. I'm having a hard time processing. I'm overwhelmed is all. Before our time is up, I want you to know that I am going to be there for you no matter what. I will waiting for you when you get out. You can explain to me what happened then." When the guard monitoring your time wasn't paying attention Jervis quickly took your hand and kissed it. He noticed that you were wearing the ring that he gave you. He quickly walked over to his bed, lifted up the pillow, grabbed his matching ring and put it on his finger. He looked directly into your eyes and simply said, "This is forever."

The guard looked at her watch and said "Alright times up love birds. Let's get a move on." She grabbed your arm and pulled you down the hallway. You took one last look at Jervis and yelled "I LOVE YOU." "AND I YOU." He shouted back. You couldn't help but smile. ''Oh how...sweet." The woman escorting you rolled her eyes in disgust.

You were now where you started. The guard went back to her station while you made your way to the exit. "Thank you for your help today." You said as a kind courtesy. She gave you a half assed "mhm." After that you were on your way, thinking about what could possibly be awaiting you as the newly announced queen of Gotham.
