Alex and The Unwanteds

Part 9

He could accidentally hurt Sky if he got out of control. Alex was sure he was like a thin piece of paper and that he was holding water. He knew that any moment now he was going to break. Alex walked into a room and found a mirror and looked at himself. He looked at his hair and saw that some of his was growing white.

He looked at his eyes and saw a bit more white dots in his irises. He groaned. He didn't know what to do anymore. He grabbed his spear and twirled it around. It was a light and strong spear but Alex wanted something heavier. Once he got back, he would have to ask Mr.Johnson if they had tungsten or inconel.

Alex walked out side. The sun was starting to go down so he decided to head back. As he swam above the volcano, the sea began to shake. Alex's eye widened as he realized that the island was coming back up.

He swam as fast as he could and almost go suked underwater from the island raising. Alex panted heavily as he watched the island rise up. After relaxing, he climbed back up and startled a few people. He walked below decks and grabbed a towel, which he left before hand after he went to check.

After drying, he passed by Sky who was sleeping. Looking around and seeing that nobody was watching, he kissed her for head and smiled when he saw try to grab the spot where Alex was and stood still.

Alex walked above decks and saw Sean looking at the island.

Alex walked and stopped next to him and leaned his back onto the side. Sean sighed knowing Alex was waiting for his response. "If you really need to go then i suppose you can. You did all the things i asked you so i suppose you could do it. I'll leave some people with you so you can have some help."

Sean motiened a man and women over to him. "This is Carina Holiday and this is Will Blair. You guys are gonna join Alex and Sky to rescue somebody from the city below. You guys will also be taking the ships that we saw earlier to escape. You guys may also take up to four people combines so about two people each. I think Alex will tell you the details. I've got to check out some things." Sean then walked away.

"So we are saving another person? Will there be some action?" said the women name Carina.

"Hopefully not." Alex said and smiled at her. "As you heard you guys can take up to four people combined. Sky, I'm sure you guys already know her, will know who we have to save since she knows what she looks like. I think you guys can take whatever weapons you want. As long as you take all of them."

"Alright." said Will Blair "What time is this going to happen?"

"In about five hours." Alex said.

Will sighed and said "Alright i'll go get a nurse if we need any assistance."

They nodded in agreement and they went their ways to do their things. Alex was about to wake Sky up but then thought about giving her about another hour to sleep. Alex grabbed his pack and made sure he had some clothes, food,a few bone pieces to carve things, and a few metal tools. Alex made sure that his spear was in its sling and the swords in its scabbards.

He the layed in the hammock rocking back in forth thinking off all the ways they could save Sky's mother there was going to be many flaws since they didn't know where she might be. Alex sat up. He need to talk to the pirate.

Alex stood in front of the pirate who was sleeping. Shaking him awake the pirate grumbled.

"Remember the girl you told us about? The once with the two earing? Where does she live or where is the area she might hang around?" Alex demanded.

"What's in it for me?'' he asked.

Alex thought of it for a while. "How bout a beer."

The man perked up at this and smiled showing his ugly teeth. "That works."

Alex grabbed the man a beer and the man opened his mouth. Alex poured some into his mouth and the man gladly drank some. After a few sips it seemed he was satisfied.

"Now that i gave you some sips tell me where she goes to sleep." Alex demanded once more.

After a few minutes of silence, the man finally said "At the exact opposite end of the door i was near, you would see a house that is right next a fire post. The door is red also so you know once you get their. Now gimme the rest of the bear."

"Not yet. Is she guarded by anybody? Does she go to sleep around this time?" Alex asked.

The man looked out the window and looked at the sky.

"Most likely. I don't know if she's guarded by anybody she's a slave. Some old man keeps her and doesn't let anyone touch her as long it's in his sight. His quite old so you won't have any trouble. Actually i'll be glad you kill. His really annoying. He doesn't even touch her himself. Now thats it. Gimme the rest of the beer." said the pirate. Alex sighed and gave him the rest of the drink.

Alex walked towards where Sky slept. Once there he watched for a minute as she slept. He then knelt down and shook her gently. As her eyes fluttered open she looked around trying to recall if anything happened. Realizing nothing was happening she looked into his eyes and had a questioned look on her face. Alex smiled at this.

"What's happening?" She asked as she sat on the hammock.

"I've convinced Sean to lets us go save your mother." Alex said. Alex let the words set in and then Sky realized what she was hearing. She hugged him and kissed him.

"Thank you." She whispered.

"Their might be a problem though." Alex said.

Sky pulled back and looked at him waiting for him to go on.

"We are going to have to use one of the ships we used earlier. I'm pretty sure you know Carina and Will. They and four more people are
