Pushed Around (Nathan Sykes)

Chapter 21

There's going to be a bit of a time jump just so everyone knows. It's only a couple of months. - H

"Are you excited?" Lacey asked me as we sat at lunch the day before the premiere. Her movie was coming out tomorrow and so was my song, it played in all of the trailers, people were begging me to release it early so they could listen to it over and over again. They still didn't know what Nathan was singing on it as well, I had only told everyone that I had a special guest. I was so happy when Mr. Leens okayed the demo and said that I could work with Nathan again. 

The last couple of months have really come together. My single with Zedd came out last month and people were eating it up, it was still sitting at number 1 on the Capital charts. Mr. Leens finally let us call off the whole fake dating with Zedd which made us both happy, seeing as we didn't actually see each other at all the whole time seeing as he was on tour. I was at two of those concerts after the song came out. But people were starting to think that we weren't a thing in the first place, which we weren't.

My album is being finalized today as well, so I'm really excited about that. "What to be excited about first? My album or the premiere? I can't pick Lacey." I grinned taking a sip of my tea. We were still waiting on Nathan and Lacey's costar, Jacob. Nathan is always late and well I haven't actually met Jacob yet, but as always Lacey says he's a dreamboat.

"Oh, here they come!" Lacey exclaims standing and waving at the two. I looked over my shoulder seeing Nathan and Lacey was right a dreamboat running over to us. My focus was on Nathan mostly, I've been back home for a month for some family matters and I haven't seen Nathan since before I left, he looked different. He's got a beard, which looks really good on him. I don't think I'll ever be able to not love this boy.

"Nathan, Jacob! Finally, we're staving!" Lacey laughs giving them both a hug. I stand giving them a smile, I thought I would get away with that until Nathan pulls me into a hug and kissed my cheek.

"Missed you." He whispers.

"Missed you too Nath." I hug him back rolling my eyes.

"You must be Layla, Lacey talks about you all of the time. She showed me your song that you did for the movie, it's amazing!" Jacob grinned shaking my hand. 

"Thank you! She talks about you a lot as well. Never shuts up actually." I laugh winking as Lacey. Lacey was telling me the other day on the phone that management was talking about calling off her and Nathan's dating, I might have screamed a little. She said that the fans were really loving her and Jacob seeing as they constantly spent more time together than her and Nathan. She also didn't want them thinking that she was cheating on Nathan, so she kind of convinced them to maybe end the contract.

"I'll go get the waiter. Be right back." Lacey said running into the restaurant as we were sitting outside. Nathan sat next to me which I gave him a concerned look about.

"Don't worry about it love, no one is going to hang us." He whispered to me. I smiled and nodded going into a conversation with Jacob to know more about him while we waited on Lacey and our food.

Things were starting to look up. I wasn't getting pushed around as much, it felt like a weight off of my shoulders.
