Pushed Around (Nathan Sykes)

Chapter 16

"Welcome to Capital Breakfast, Layla!" I was sitting in my interview with Captial and I was freaking out. 

"Thank you for having me!" I still have no idea what I'm doing. I hope this goes well.

"First off, congrats on having your first song go straight to number one! That's very rare!"

"Thank you! I have an amazing fan base! After getting signed, they continue to support me, I am so grateful for them. I wouldn't be here without them." There was awes from around the room and I smiled. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my fans. 

"So, what can we expect from you next?"

"Well, I've got a few songs that are in the works, I'm shooting my music video tomorrow, and I might have a couple of artists working with me. Sadly you all will have to wait and see." I grinned. 

"So there's a few rumors going around about you and Nathan Sykes from boy band The Wanted, going around. Are they true?" Shit.

"Like? Nathan and I are just friends. He's helped me write a couple of songs that will hopefully go on my album or his. Plus he and Lacey are too cute together. She's the sweetest." I hope that covers my ass. We'll see when I get to the studio.

"Well after that video the two of you posted, then took down the next day, people seem worried."

"Oh that. Funny enough, my Youtube channel crashed, I lost a couple of other videos as well. I lost all of the footage." That was so bad.

"That's horrible! We all hope that one day you can get the footage back! It was so amazing! But that is all the time we have today for the lovely Layla Sage! Layla thank you for coming and hanging out with us! We can't wait to have you back! Good luck on your album!" 

"Thank you! I can't wait to come back!" We were off the air and I let out a sigh of relief. I hope I can get good at this one day. I feel like that went horribly. 

"You did great Layla. A natural." Raven said walking up to me after I left the recording studio. She came with me so I wouldn't feel so worried. My team– No my friends are the best. 

"Thank you, Raven, I was so worried that I would say something wrong. Do you think Mr. Leens will say anything?" 

"I think you'll be fine. He'll probably talk to you about it, but I think you did covering for yourself. They didn't act like they suspected anything." Oh, thank goodness. 

"I really hope so."

"Layla, I want to talk about your interview this morning." Here it comes. "You did an amazing job." 

"Really? I didn't mess anything up?" 

"Well, you need to work on your lying voice a little bit. Your story about the video, not the greatest, but we can work on that. I loved your cover for the question about you and Nathan. Brilliant. Bringing Lacey into that was perfect. If you keep that up, they'll never ask about it again soon." I hope so, it's hard to lie about that. 

"Great. I'll keep aiming for that." What else was I to say? No, I don't want to lie about it? You should let Nathan and I date because we're perfect for each other, plus Lacey is like in love with her co-star for her new movie. This is all really messed up. I still want to know what Lacey and Nathan were fighting about yesterday.

"Now I know you're working on your album, but I need you to sort of put that on hold." What. "The movie that Lacey is staring in, they want you to write a song for the soundtrack. I'll give you more details when I get them myself. So continue working on your album, and I'll let you know." My dreams are coming true. What in the world is going on today?

"Also, don't forget that Al will pick you up at 7 in the morning tomorrow for your shoot. Just be yourself tomorrow okay? Let your emotion show tomorrow. Alright? Have fun." 

"I completely understand. Thank you Mr. Leens. Be me. Got it." 

"Another thing, Zedd will be back in town next week, he want's to work with you when he gets back. I might have a couple more artists that want to work with you. Don't mess this up Layla, these are big people, people who will skyrocket your career."

"Understood." 

"You can leave now. I want a new song in a couple of weeks. I want to see progress."

"Got it. Thank you again Mr. Leens." I walked out of his office before he could say anything else. I made my way down the stairs, when I walked past Nathan's studio, he and Lacey were fighting again. I rushed past not wanting to snoop. I hope everything is okay.
