Several hours had passed since Chaeyoung had agreed to help Tzuyu become more comfortable with Korea and its native language, and she couldn't keep her mind on her work. She was supposed to be organizing and checking the legitimacy of some publicity offers, but her mind kept wandering back to the Taiwanese girl and her big smile. She hadn't gotten any more time to speak with Tzuyu or even organize a meeting with her so they could get to know each other better. But that, Chaeyoung realized, would give her an excuse to track down the tall model. Not that I need an excuse. I'm supposed to be helping her out, she reassured herself.

Chaeyoung was rather bold and unafraid to speak her thoughts when comfortable, but because of her more introverted nature when it came to meeting new people, she always found herself doubting her own actions and thoughts. It didn't help that she learned that she didn't care about gender when it came to romantic relationships and was teased for it in her younger years. A thing of the past, as most people under or working for YW didn't really care about such things, but it had left Chaeyoung more hesitant to be open. Often, she was caught between wanting to be as truthful as possible and wondering whether she should be more reserved in her thoughts and actions.

"Chae?" Chaeyoung's thoughts were interrupted by a familiar and teasing voice. She raised her head from her computer and it's irritatingly bright light with her eyebrows raised in mock annoyance.

"What do you want, Dubu?"

Dahyun, trainee and recently made friend of Chaeyoung's, approached her with a small smile. "Guess what."

Chaeyoung turned around fully in her chair to face Dahyun, sensing that she had a story to tell Chaeyoung. "What?"

Dahyun's solemn expression broke into a wide, sunny grin. "I met Momo."

A smile appeared on Chaeyoung's face. "Is she even more stunning in real life than in pictures?" she asked teasingly, thought she already knew the answer, having briefly spoken to her earlier. But Dahyun was a big fan of the dancing machine, and she didn't want to burst her bubble by boasting about how she'd met the older girl first.

"Yes," gushed Dahyun happily. "She's so adorable. And she's really hot too. I'm still straight, but if she asked me out, I wouldn't hesitate to say yes."

Chaeyoung rolled her eyes, thought still smiling. "Dahyun, that doesn't sound very straight to me."

"Whatever! Anyways, I gotta go-- I have a new choreography I need to practice, just wanted to tell you about that monumental occasion," she explained to Chaeyoung, waving at the secretary as she jogged off, probably not wanting to be late.

Chaeyoung sighed, dropping her head to desk in exhaustion. Why she was so tired all of sudden, she didn't have a reasonable explanation, but she was tired. She'd be glad when she got off work in an hour and got to head home.

She returned to organizing company papers, though any onlooker would be able to clearly see that she was not enjoying herself right then. Generally, she didn't mind her somewhat boring job-- she was working in the same building as Jihyo and Jimin Park, why would she complain? One time Chaeyoung had even received the honor of saying hello to Jimin, and due to Nayeon and Jihyo's friendships she was mutual friends with the beautiful solo performer.

And now because of my job I get to have a reason to hang out with Tzuyu. Chaeyoung smiled to herself. Yeah, I really do have a great job, if I look past the actual work.

Although Chaeyoung really wanted to be done with work that day, when her time to leave came, she was hesitant to move. She kept glancing back towards the stairwell to the practice rooms, where she'd seen the new idol and trainees head. None of them had come down yet, the only person to talk to her had been Dahyun over an hour ago. Chaeyoung resisted the urge to go seek out Nayeon. It was likely that she was working with the YW's business team or something just as important, and it wasn't like Chaeyoung actually had anything to tell her.

But right as Chaeyoung was able to finally leave, albeit reluctantly, she heard the sound of group of people descending down the people echo down gently to the wide, empty room where Chaeyoung's desk was located. Chaeyoung lingered by her desk for an extra and unneeded few seconds, wanting to see who it was.

A group of girls trickled into the room. Chaeyoung should've been used to the abundance of beautiful girls, seeings as she'd been working for the all-girls entertainment company for quite a few months, but it was a bit of shock knowing that so many of these idols and trainees worked in the same building as Chaeyoung everyday. Truth told, Chaeyoung had trouble believing it sometimes. And then she'd remember how she'd come to the company with the intention of joining the ranks of those musically talented girls and she'd cringe for the millionth time, wondering how she ever thought she had a chance.

When Chaeyoung didn't see Dahyun or Nayeon amongst the group, she almost turned around and walked back home, but someone at the edge of the crowd caught her eye. It was Tzuyu, her head ducked towards the ground and her curtain of dark hair making her expression difficult to read. Chaeyoung noticed how she seemed to be standing away from the group, as though uncertain as to her place with the other girls. A pang of sorrow struck Chaeyoung's heart as she observed Tzuyu's lonely stance. As the other girls began to clear out, some of them leaving to go home and others to practice some more. Chaeyoung watched Tzuyu fiddle with her hands, eyes still downcast.

"Hey Tzuyu!" Chaeyoung called out, the words escaping her before she could think her actions through. Chaeyoung grabbed her bag containing her phone, wallet, and lunch, waving at a confused Tzuyu. A few of the others glanced towards Chaeyoung briefly, but nobody paid much attention to either girl.

"Hello," responded Tzuyu, an uncomfortable look on her face.

"Are you okay?" asked Chaeyoung once she had reached the model.

Tzuyu shrugged. "It's just been... a day. A rough first day."

"Ah. I see. What are you going to do now?"

Tzuyu just shrugged. "I don't know. Go to my new dorm. Eat. Study. Sleep. I don't have anything I need to do."

Chaeyoung shifted her feet a bit, biting her lip out of habit. "Do you want to go a cafe or something, then? Just to get to know each other, that is. Because I'll be teaching you, or helping you or something," mumbled Chaeyoung feeling a blush of embarrassment at her fumbled words.

A small smile lifted the corners of Tzuyu's lips. Chaeyoung, suddenly realizing that her gaze had indeed drifted down to Tzuyu's lips, quickly looked away, hoping the taller girl hadn't noticed.

"That sounds nice," agreed Tzuyu. "I'm new here, too, so it would help me learn the area a little bit." Chaeyoung smiled as Tzuyu mispronounced a word, and gently corrected her.

"Thank you," said Tzuyu, repeating the word correctly a few times to ensure she was saying it right.

Shrugging, Chaeyoung responded shyly. "No problem, Tzuyu. Do-- do you want to go the cafe now?"

"Good plan." Tzuyu turned to Chaeyoung, smiling at her gratefully. Not for the last time, Chaeyoung felt her heart melt looking at Tzuyu.
