I rushed around my room, my heart beating a million times a minute and my head spinning so fast, I might get whiplash. I shoved my school stuff back into my backpack and zipped it up. Then I pulled my suitcase from under my bed and dropped it onto the mattress, flinging the flap open in a haste.

I didn't even know what time it was. After I got back home from the riverbank, I couldn't get any sleep.

I knew all about the deal being broken, I knew they were bound to come after me. I knew I was dead if they caught up to me. And I was okay with that.

But I never wanted anyone else to know about it. But Derek and Scott both overheard Gerard. Scott was probably confused, because he didn't know that I knew the Argents. But he did know that my eyes were blue and that I came home over a month ago. He's smart; he'll quickly put two and two together.

Derek, on the other hand, had more understanding about it. Kind of. He knew that I knew the Argents and he knew there was something between us that I was afraid of, so, there was no doubt that he already knew that Gerard was talking about me.

I had spent an unknown length of time just pacing my bedroom when I got home, trying to figure out what was the best choice for me to do.

Ultimately, I knew what I had to do.

Staying in Beacon Hills would only ensure that my family would get hurt when the Argents finally came for me. I was an Omega and I wouldn't be able to fend off a family of hunters on my own.

Like Gerard said: an Omega rarely survives on their own.

It was a miracle I survived for eight years as an Omega and didn't somehow turn out like the Omega from the river. Maybe it was because I never had a pack at all. Maybe it was the strength of my anchors to my human side, that kept me from turning out so horribly as an Omega.

Whatever it was, I was glad for it.

I didn't even care about folding my clothes as I started to shove them into the suitcase. I was breathing heavily, making inhumane noises if something didn't work in my haste to get it done.

I could hear movement outside of my bedroom door and the knock that came startled me, making me jump.

"Sarah? Is everything okay?"

I didn't answer my brother and instead let out a scream of frustration through my tightly clenched jaw when I couldn't get my suitcase to stay shut. I was trying to zip it up, but with the unfolded clothes, it was useless.

My bedroom door swung open but I didn't pay any attention. I tried to push overflowing clothes back into the suitcase so that I could zip it.

"Sarah, what's going on? What are you doing?"
