We walked through the empty school toward the pools and as we got to our destination, I saw Derek standing in front of one of the pools with a basketball in his hand.
I growled as she let my brother go and stood at Derek's side. I stepped in front of Stiles and narrowed my eyes at Derek.
"Keep your bitch on a leash, Derek," I snarled. "If she touches Stiles again, I'll rip her hands from her wrists."
Erica snarled back, baring her fangs and ready to lunge at me, but Derek stopped her, growling a low warning to her.
"I'll keep that in mind," Derek said to me, a hint of a smirk on his face.
I stood beside my brother again and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Stiles," Derek said, turning to Stiles.
"Derek."
"What did you see at the mechanic's garage?" he asked.
I turned my head to my brother, curious about the same thing. He'd been fairly vague about what had happened that night and what he had seen. I think he didn't want me to freak out; which would make sense. My brother was a weakness of mine and I did have a tendency to freak out if something happens to him.
Could you blame me? I knew what was out there and my brother was more vulnerable than me.
"Uh, several alarming EPA violations that I'm seriously considering reporting," he pointed out. I chuckled at his sarcasm but I also knew he wasn't kidding. He told me that the place was just awful.
Derek's claws came out and he used them to pop the basketball as a kind of threat and I growled at him.
What a nice 180 after only a couple of hours.
"Holy God," my brother gulped.
"Let's try that again," Derek stated, tossing the flat basketball to the floor.
I narrowed my eyes. "Threatening my brother gets you nowhere, Derek," I snapped. "Maybe try asking nicely for once and you might get what you want."
"I want answers, Sarah," Derek said, more calmly than I felt. "Whatever killed the mechanic killed Isaac's father and it could come after any one of us next."
Stiles huffed in annoyance. "Sarah, it's fine," he assured me.
I narrowed my eyes at Derek again but stepped back.
"Alright, the thing was pretty slick-looking. Um, skin was dark, kind of patterned." Stiles felt frightened talking about the creature he had scene the night before and I understood. "I think I actually saw scales."
My brows furrowed together at his description. I had never heard of a creature like that, so, how could we fight it if we didn't know what it was?
"Is that enough? Okay, 'cause I have somebody I really need to talk to."
