we need to talk.Derek
i'm at the beacon hills train depot.
I looked down at my phone again as I got out of my car at the old train station. It had been abandoned for a long time, making it the perfect place for Derek to hole up in since he couldn't use his own house.
I walked into the building quietly. I didn't want to alert anyone to my presence yet. And based off the grunting and other strange sounds I was hearing, I didn't think I had much to worry about.
It sounded like people were sparring, maybe training, as I made my way through the top floor of the building. The sounds were coming from underneath me, in the underground level. I was glad that I was in combat books; they made less noise than heels.
I slowly made my way down the stairs, keeping my heart slow so that Derek couldn't pick it up yet. But, by the sound of things, he was too busy trying to train his young betas how to fight.
I lowered myself down when I was just barely in view of the underground lair. I wanted to see what he was up to with them first.
Isaac and Erica were laying on the floor and Derek just looked annoyed.
"Does anyone wanna try not being completely predictable?"
As he turned back to the two betas, I watched Erica pull herself to her feet and she jumped at Derek.
My eyes widened as she wrapped her legs around his waist and slammed her lips onto his, kissing him fiercely.
My heart sank into my stomach but I couldn't tear my eyes away. I couldn't move either, I was rooted to my spot; forced to watch them kiss while he made no indication to immediately rip her away from him.
After a few more agonizing seconds, Derek gripped her legs and threw her off of him, a scowl on his face.
He wiped his lips and glared down at her. "That's the last time you do that," he snapped.
"Why?" she asked angrily. "Because I'm a beta? Or because that—?"
Derek spun around with a growl and Erica quickly shut up.
"No. Because I have someone else in mind for you," he told her.
I furrowed my brows together, unable to drag my heart from my stomach. It broke when they kissed but thankfully, it didn't seem like any of them picked up on it.
"Are we done?" Isaac questioned. "I've got about a hundred bones that need a few hours to heal."
A look of sympathy crossed Derek's face but I could tell it was fake. He knelt down in front of Isaac and I couldn't see much from my position at the top of the stairs.
