Chapter 7: Meeting Ashton

Hemmings' House

Michael's POV

Luke, Calum, and I were all in the living room of Luke's house. We were all sitting on the couch and awaiting the arrival of Ashton. A few minutes more of waiting passed and he finally showed up. Luke opened the door and saw Ashton and Amelia standing there. "Sorry," Ashton apologized. "I didn't know where you lived, so I had Amelia come and direct me. I got a little lost."

"It's okay, we weren't doing anything," Luke lied. We were all very upset with his unpunctuality (if that's even a word).

Ashton and Amelia walked in and Ashton and I acknowledged each other with a nod up. Luke brought them to the couch and Amelia sat next to me and Ashton sat next to her. Luke was sitting in a chair that was in front of the couch. "Okay, let's bring Ashton to the seat of honor so he can introduce himself," Luke said getting up motioning to Ashton the chair he was just sitting in. Ashton awkwardly got up from the couch and over to the chair.

He sat down while Luke sat next to Calum. Ashton gave a little wave and then smiled. "Hey guys, my name is Ashton," he introduced. "Do you guys have a drum-set here?"

"Unfortunately, no," Luke replied.

"We have a wooden box though," I added. "It's a nice box, Amelia's been using it for two years now."

Ashton laughed at this. "I know, I've heard all about the box," he said still laughing a bit. "I actually tried to get her to play on my drum-set and she-"

"Totally sucked," Amelia finished giggling.

"So, Ashton, what do you do besides drumming?" Calum questioned.

"Nothing really, I had a job at the video store, but got fired due to arriving late everyday," he explained.

The three of us guys looked at each other and nodded. Then Luke stood up and clapped his hands together. "I think you just became the drummer for 5 Seconds of Summer," Luke announced. Then there was a lot of applauding and cheering from all of us. Luke turned to Amelia and made a sad face. "I'm sorry, you've been replaced," he apologized unsympatheticly.

Amelia smiled and then laughed. "I knew the end was near," she joked.

Luke then cleared his voice and motioned to Calum and I. "We totally forgot to introduce ourselves," he said. "I'm Luke, I'm the lead singer and guittarist. This is Calum, he plays bass and vocals. And this is-"

"We already know each other," I informed Luke.

Luke looked at me strangely. "How?" he wondered.

"We met at my brother's party," Ashton told him.

I groaned. "Oh, yeah, I forgot your brother was him," I stated.

"Ooh," Calum said wincing. "That might make you get kicked out of the band," he said jokingly.

"We don't associate with people who associate with those types of people," Luke teased. "No offense, Amelia."

"It's fine, I completely agree," she said.

"What about Seth?" Calum asked.

Amelia smirked. "I did away with him yesterday after band practice," she told us.

My heart skipped a beat. I then went over to her and hugged her, I'm not entirely sure why either. It was just my first instinct. "I'm so proud of you!" I exclaimed rocking her back and forth. "You stood up to him!"

"With the help from Ashton," she added.

I shot Ashton a "way to go/thank you" look as I continued to hug Amelia. "I'll pick you up tomorrow for school," I told her.

"Of course," she said into my shoulder.

Yes, I got her back to me and got a new band member!

Amelia pulled away from me and then glared at me. "I thought you were bringing Macca's?" she stated.

"Calum objected to it!" Calum called in the third person.

"So we have sandwiches and chips to eat, thanks to Mrs. Hemmings," I added.

All five of us then went into the kitchen to eat lunch. Ya.

Sorry for the short chapter, I just didn't have much I say in it.
