Fourth Period Lunch
Michael's POV
I walked into the cafeteria as a smile spread across my face. There was Amelia, in her rightful place at our table. My smile spread farther as I sped up my walk. I enjoyed being around her all the time, it made me happy to be in the presence of someone as extraordinarily interesting as Amelia Rose Oswald was. I didn't want to miss a single minute of our being together, even though we've been friends for years, I still want to be around her as much as possible.
I slid onto the table until I bumped into Amelia. She giggled and I laughed. "Glad to see you're back where you belong," I told her with a side hug.
Amelia smiled and then started to eat her sandwich. This was something she did, it was cute. She wouldn't start eating till all our friends were sitting down. If I wasn't here, she wouldn't start eating her lunch. If Calum or Luke weren't here, she wouldn't start eating. It depended on what she did with Lia. She normally wouldn't wait because she could never be sure when Lia was going to sit with us. Lia mostly say with a group of other girls who were "cooler" than us.
Amelia just continued to eat her lunch and I then went up to grab my lunch from the lunch line. I went up and grabbed my food, then I went back to the table and sat down.
A few minutes of talking about how awful the science teacher is passed and then... Seth Irwin came over to the table.
Seth stood at the head of the table and looked at Amelia. "Hey," she said with a smile.
"Babe, you never said you were going to sit with these people today," he told her. Amelia's smile dropped.
Amelia put down her bag of potato chips and looked at him. "I actually did," she responded. "On our way to school I told you that they wanted me to sit with them today."
Seth shook his head. "You never said that," he said sternly.
Amelia nodded. "Yes, I did," she stated.
"When?"
"As we were pulling into the parking lot," she answered.
Seth rolled his eyes and then stood behind Amelia. He wrapped his arms around her and made me gag. He then nuzzled his face in her hair while I was completely annoyed. "How about we go sit over at my table?" he suggested in a hushed voice, but I could hear. I wanted to puke.
"But I promised them I'd sit over here," she responded.
"Yeah, but my table is where we actually do things. But, we could always go eat in my car... minus the food part," he whispered.
Amelia's face blushed red and I could tell she as completely uncomfortable. I couldn't just sit and watch this any longer. "Can't you see she doesn't want to go with you?" I kind of yelled at him.
He let go of Amelia and glared at me. "Can't you see that she doesn't want to be around you?" Seth shot back at me.
I looked at Seth emotionlessly and he looked down at Amelia, who was staring blankly at the table.
"I don't mean to butt in, but doesn't Amelia have a say in this?" Calum asked interrupting the state down.
We all looked at Amelia and she just continued to eat her potato chips. "Amy?" Seth said. "What's it going to be?"
Amelia looked up at Seth and swallowed what was in her mouth. "I told them I'd sit with them," she muttered meekly. "And they're my best friends, and I can't just abandon them after a promise."
Seth then bent down and whispered something in her ear. Amelia turned pale and nodded, then Seth left.
I glared at Seth as he walked back to his table and I then looked back at Amelia. "What did he tell you?" I questioned keeping my voice low.
Amelia ignored me and kept eating. She then acknowledged me and blinked. "It's something just between us," she told me. Then she continued with her food.
There was a bit of silence until Luke spoke up to save us all. "So, Amelia, on Saturday we're having band practice, if you don't have anything planned," he informed her.
Amelia smiled and nodded. "I will be there," she agreed.
Yes, we have a band. Luke is lead singer and guitarist, Calum is bass and backing vocals, I'm the lead guitarist plus extra backing vocals, and then Amelia comes in and plays the "drums". What she really does is hit this wooden box to a best and we call it the drums. To be honest, Amelia is not very good at it, and she knows this. We just need a drummer and she can just be our stand by drummer. She won't really care if she's kicked out, because she knows she's only temporary.
"What time shall I be there?" she wondered.
"Could you try to be at my house around 10:30 ish?" Luke asked.
Amelia nodded and Calum and I looked at each other in disgust. Then we looked at Luke. "10:30?" we both asked in horror.
"That is too early!" I complained.
Amelia and Luke laughed. "Oh come one, it's not that early," Amelia stated. "Just be glad he's not saying nine. Just get up at ten, quickly get dressed and go to his place. You can do it."
"I can't, do you know how long it takes to perfect this?" Calum asked motioning towards his hair.
Amelia giggled and then sighed. "Oh my gosh, I love you guys," she said. Oh, if only she knew.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
After lunch, I went about my day. I didn't see Amelia, which made me very unhappy. That's about how that day went, so yeah.
