Jake's P.O.V.
I woke up to the sound of my alarm and Jago eating cheese. 'Great.' I thought. 'It wasn't a dream. I am living with a magical creature that only sits around and eats.' I got out of bed and went to my bathroom to take a quick shower. I normally didn't take showers in the morning but last night I practiced a ton to make sure that I was ready to fight. It didn't go amazing but at least I could fight decently.
When I got dressed I headed downstairs and ate my breakfast in silence and I looked at jobs I could apply for. I didn't find any and I left my mom a note saying I left and I was going to look at more jobs when I got home. As I walked up to school I saw my friend Alex on his phone by the entrance. I shook my head. He was always on his phone.
"Oh hey dude! Wassup?" He asked me.
"Nothing, how about?" I responded as casually as I could. I kept remembering what Jago told me. I couldn't have anyone know my identity. Hopefully I could keep myself from telling everyone.
"I'm looking at Emily's latest blog post. She is doing really well. She has a ton of subscribers. She is almost to 1 million." He said. Alex had a huge crush on Emily. It wasn't like my crush. His was bigger yet he made fun of my crush for Mary. I smiled at the thought. "What are you smiling about?" He asked me. The smile left my face.
"Oh just remembering something." I responded.
"Really what?" Alex pushed. Jeez that kid could get annoying at times. Luckily the bell saved me. "You are telling me at free period." He said as he walked to his class. I started walking up the stairs when someone accidentally bumped into me running the other way.
"Hey watch it ok?" I asked grabbing the persons shoulders to keep them from falling.
"Thanks Jake. Who knew, maybe I would have fainted again." The person joked. Mary.
"You're right. That would have ruined plans since you wanted to faint again next week." I joked backed.
"I'm surprised you remember that. But you are right. That would have thrown me off schedule." She said.
"Yes it would have. Where were you going?" I asked her. She should have been in class right now not leaving the school.
"Oh Ms. Carol left some papers in the other school building and asked me to go get them. She was very thorough with her instructions on where they were." Mary said holding up a paper with instructions on where to go to get the papers.
"Wow. You were right. Did she leave them in a very specific place?"
"She must have given how much instructions there are. Well, I got to go and quickly get these papers. Bye. I will be more careful." She left with that.

Jake's P.O.V.
I left the building with my backpack weighing heavy on my shoulders. Well, I guess I will be having an extra late night if I practice my skills again. As I walked I saw Mary running towards her home. She seemed to be in a rush. 'Huh?' I thought. Why is she running? I ran to catch up to her because 1 I wanted to know why she was running and 2 I didn't want her to fall and faint again.
"Mary!" I called out to her. Thankfully she stopped and turned around at hearing her name. I eventually caught up to her.
"Hey Jake! What are you doing?" She asked me.
"Well I was wondering why you were running and I didn't want you to fall and faint again." I said adding a teasing tone to my voice.
"Haha. Well, I am running because need to get home to help my parents at home. I have to hurry because they told me to come right away."
