Author's P.O.V.
Neither superhero returned to practice the following nights. They were both still a little shocked about their kiss. Sure it wasn't a big passionate kiss but it was their first kiss for both.
Mary was well... she didn't know what to think. On one hand, she liked Augur, but on the other hand she thought she was leaving behind her old thoughts. Before she moved to her current school she had been dating but she eventually found out he was f***ing with 2 other girls. Mary had cried all day and decided she wouldn't love anyone like that again. She put up a wall around herself to protect her from being hurt again. Yet, Augur somehow found a way to bring her walls down.
Jake had around the same thoughts. Though he liked Oracle he still felt he was betraying his crush Mary. Didn't he like Mary and not Oracle? Also what did the kiss mean? At the time he just felt bad for her and didn't want her thinking bad about herself. But now? He didn't know.

Mary was walking up to the school when she tripped. "Ow!" She cried out. Her hand started to bleed.
"Jeez Mary. You are such a klutz. Hahaha!" Stephanie laughed.
"Ugh Steph, just shut your mouth." Mary said getting up.
"Well it isn't my fault you're a klutz. But it IS your fault my shoes are scuffed." She complained.
'YOU are the one who put your foot in front of me!' Mary yelled. 'And I'm not a klutz, you are just a bully who tripped me.' Mary wanted to say but refrained. Instead she just said, "Whatever" and walked off.
"Mary! I saw what Stephanie did. She is such a b****." Emily rolled her eyes.
"Yes I know but language please?" Mary responds massaging the bridge of her nose.
"Fine! But still, lets get you to the nurse. That cut needs to be taken care of." Mary looked at her hand. She had nearly forgotten about it, but as she looked at the cut she realized it was pretty bad. Blood covered her entire palm.
"Ok." Mary obliged.
-----------------------------------------------Time Skip to Nurse---------------------------------
"Hi Mrs. Varvol. Mary got her hand cut. Do you think you could look at it?" Emily asked her in a sweet tone. The one she used for teachers.
"Oh of course. Mary step right over here." Mary stepped over to her. "Oh my! What happened? The is no simple cut dear. It looks horrible, but trust me I will take care to it. Now answer me, what happened?" She said in a concerned voice.
"Oh um... someone tripped me and I fell and.. yeah." Mary stuttered. She couldn't just tell the nurse Stephanie tripped her and has been bullying her every since she came to the school. However Mrs. Varvol wanted to know the details.
"Darling you must tell me who did it so it wont happen again." The nurse responded.
"Oh it was no big deal really. It was an accident." When Mary said this Emily looked at her annoyed. Mary read her mind and instantly knew Emily wanted Mary to tell the truth just to get Stephanie in trouble for once.
"But-" Em started.
"But I will make sure to tell them to be careful next time and to watch where they are going." Mary said to Emily giving her a pointed stare. Emily didn't know what Steph would do if she got blamed for something, though Mary did. And it wasn't pretty.
"Ok darling I will take your word for it but be careful. Ok?" Mrs. Varvol said.
"I will. Thanks again." Mary and Emily walked out after Mrs. Varvol said it wasn't a big deal.
"Seriously? Why didn't you say it was Stephanie? She would finally get in trouble!" Emily started once they were a ways away from the crowd.
"Look you don't know what that crazy girl will do but I do. She will put the blame on me and make up a crazy story about how I hurt her the is still believable! I would be the loser in the long run." Mary said. It had happened when Clara told on Stephanie and she ended up getting a 1 week suspension.
"Fine, but you can't let her walk over you. I.. I have heard you in the music room in the morning. The songs you sing? They are all about being confident and standing up for yourself. You should start doing what you sing and play!" Emily argued.
"I know and I try but... I don't know how. I'm known as the quiet girl who like to read. Not the girl who can put up a good argument and knows how to make people back off." Mary told her.
"Oh god Mary! Have you seen yourself in your family? You have strong opinions waiting to spill. When we call each other and you put the phone down to argue with your step-father you always win. And I know why. When he starts the argument you finish them. And you have siblings that only look up to you. You brothers and sister love you because you are strong and can stand up for yourself. You just have to do it in school." Emily praised. Mary blushed.
"Em don't talk so loud. Thank you I appreciate it but I really don't need Stephanie knowing that I have a step-father."
"Sorry I forgot how much you cared. But promise me this: whenever Stephanie does something like that to you again stand up for yourself the way you do at home." Emily pleaded her.
"Fine I will try."
"Oo and another thing. Be extra loud if it is a crowd."
"Haha ok I will. But lets go to class. You know how Mr. Van gets when we are late. Yeesh that guy has problems." Mary shivered jokingly. The girls laughed and walked to class but they didn't know a certain boy saw and heard everything from when Stephanie tripped Mary to when the girls walked to class.
Ok soooo what did you think. I am gonna try to lead in to their more personal lives to add more to the story. I am really enjoying making this. Btw I am getting new ideas on a new story. So it might come, it might not. Again I hope to update ASAP but I might have trouble. I am super busy so it might take awhile. But also I have to come up with chapters. Write the chapters. Type the chapters. Then post the chapters, so it is a long process that isn't easy. Anyway adios for now!!
