No one's P.O.V.
Mary woke up the next day groggily. She didn't get much sleep due to her constant worrying about today. Anthea convinced her to wear her hair down and that was something Mary had never done. She always wore it up and sometimes forgot its length. Her blonde locks went down to her waist and was always full of tangles. Anyway Mary got out of bed and went to pick out an outfit. She chose ripped jeans, a pink off-the-shoulder crop top, white sneakers, and a white watch for an accessory. She put a white phone case on her phone and used her pink backpack.
And for her hair she did a quick little side French braid that was barely noticeable and left the rest down. Mary kept going over it with a brush before Anthea grunted telling her to get going.
"Morning Mama." Mary said when she saw her mother in the kitchen.
"Oh hi darling. Um hun.
"Yeah?"
"You forgot to do your hair." Her mother pointed at Mary's hair.
"Oh um actually I am wearing it down."
"My daughter wearing her hair down. Who would have thought. I actually forgot how long it was. It looks awesome though. Here eat."
"Thanks mom." Mary quickly ate then left, got in her car, and went to school.
When Mary got to school, she got out of the car and walked up the front steps. She immediately heard a gasp and saw Andrew staring at her, mouth wide open.
"Uh, hey Andrew." Mary awkwardly waved.
'Hey Mary. Your hair. It's down. And long. Really long."
"Yeah. I though I'd switch it up?"
"Well it looks great. Gotta go."
"Thanks. Bye." Mary continued her way into school noticing the way people in her grade stared at her. It was commo. Her school was like that. They see something weird and then stare at it until someone tells them to stop.
"Mary! Oh my gosh! Your hair. It's down! And crazy long. I don't remember it being so long." Emily said running towards her.
"Good to see you too."
"Sorry I didn't mean it like that. It looks great. It's just. You never wear it down."
"Jake suggested it and convinced me."
"Well I am for one glad you listened to him. He is gonna freak when he sees you!"
"Lets hope not. Come on. We have to get to class."
"Fine." When the girls walked in Mary looked up and saw Jake gawking at her. Mary blushed.
"M-Mary. Yo-your hair. It's- It's down. And long." Jake stammered.
"Ok how many people are gonna say that?"
"Haha. No idea." Em commented laughing slightly.
"Woah Mary. Your hair. It's-" Alex started.
"Down yes. Long yes. I know how my hair looks." Mary interrupted.
"Sorry. Why the mood?"
"You were the fourth person the say the same sentence."
"Oh my bad. Come on Emily. Jake and Mary need to talk." Alex grabbed Emily's hand and led her to their seats.
Jake's P.O.V.
"Hey." Mary said smiling trying to lighten the mood.
"Um hi. I see you took my advice." Mary continued blushing which was really cute.
"Um yeah. I kinda forgot how long it was."
"Yeah I wasn't suspecting that. Your braids make it look way shorter."
"Yeah. I do a lot of stuff that makes it seem super short." There was an awkward silence filling the space. "So what do you think?" Mary filled the awkwardness.
"It looks amazing. Not that it doesn't look amazing when it is up but- you know- it looks amazing all the time." I rubbed the back of my neck as heat rose to my face in embarrassment. Mary laughed her beautiful laugh making me smile.
"Thanks. Well I gotta get to my seat. And so do you." She walked up to her seat beside Emily while I walked to mine still blushing.
"She got you good didn't she?" Alex immediately asked me.
"Yeah I guess."
"Well your bad luck in love is going to change. There is a dance on Friday next week and you're going to invite Mary as your date."
"wait what? I cant ask Mary. She doesn't even like me."
"How do you know?"
"I told her basically that I liked it and she didn't say it back. She looked....... appalled. Or surprised."
"Surprised. But she was just in shock dude. She didn't know what to say. What if Mary told you that she liked you? Would you be able to respond? No you would be a complete blushing mess." Alex was right. I would ask Mary to be my date to the dance.
"Ok I will ask her."
"Awesome. And hey. If she says no, ask her if she'll go with you as a friend."
"Ok man. Thanks." I was about to say more but the teacher came in and began class.
'I guess I'll have to ask Alex about Emily later. And ask Mary to the dance at lunch.'
Ok so that was kind of a filler chapter that will lead into what will happen. Again I am reminding you, PLEASE COMMENT. Anything. Anything at all. I don't care what. Well nothing mean. Just comment would ya? Anyway thanks for reading. I will update soon. Bye!
