Chapter 8

Author's P.O.V.

Everything. Jake saw everything. Now instead of the kiss with Oracle, only Mary was on his mind. Mary was just walking up to school when Stephanie tripped her. For no reason. He thought Stephanie was nice but apparently only around him. Why? He didn't know. Mary had went to the nurse with Emily and Jake had followed. He listened to everything the girls said. And when they were walking back to class he was shocked at what he heard. Supposedly Stephanie had been bullying everyone for awhile especially Mary. Jake was disgusted. Stephanie had been one of his childhood friends and she never bullied people. Even when Jake wasn't around. But now here she was bullying everyone only when Jake wasn't there to witness it.

The school bell brought him away from his thoughts and he quickly ran to class. Thankfully the teacher was late so he could talk to Alex.

"Hey dude." Jake called out to his friend.

"Hey. Where were you?" Alex asked him.

"Oh um, I was uh... ok don't tell anyone but I saw Mary being tripped by Stephanie and I followed her and Emily and um eavesdropped on their conversation." Jake whispered.

"Dud you got it bad. But I wont tell. Why don't you just ask her out already? I bet she would say yes."

"I don't know. We don't really talk a whole lot."

"Oh I know. How about we all go to the new amusement park? I heard it is fun. You could get some alone time with Mary and just get to now her. That way you will at least talk." Perfect

"Awesome idea! We'll bring up the idea at lunch."

"You'll bring up the idea at lunch. You need some credit." Alex responded with a smirk.

"Fine." Jake agreed a little nervous.

"Ok class sorry I am late. Turn to page 167 in your math textbook." The teacher said walking in.

Jake and Alex were walking over to their table where Emily and Mary were already sitting.

"Hello ladies." Alex said sitting next to Emily. He swore he saw a slight blush rise to Alex's face.

"Hi. To whom do we owe the pleasure?" Emily said.

"No one. Jake here had and idea for something we could do. What was it Jake?"

"So um I thought we could all go to the new amusement park tomorrow. I thought it would be fun especially with all this work we deserve a break." Jake sat down noticing how quiet Mia was. She looked deep in thought.

"Awesome! I am in! How about you Mary?" Emily asked her best friend.

"Hm what?" Mary asked looking up from her notebook.

"The new amusement park? Do you wanna go there tomorrow with the rest of us?" Em asked her.

"Oh yeah sure. What time were we thinking?" She turned to Jake.

"Oh um 9:00. We don't have school tomorrow so yeah, 9:00." Jake responded. He looked over to Alex who gave him a thumbs up. Mary looked at her phone.

"Yeah I can make it. I have to go to the store at 3:00 so can we end it at 2:30?" Mary looked up from her phone.

"Geez Mary. Why all the detail. We'll leave when we leave. If we stay later than that you can leave early." Emily said rolling her eyes.

"Fine fine." Mary said and went back to writing in her notebook until Emily took it away. "Hey Emily! I need that." Mary said quietly.

"First, it is lunch. We are here to socialize. Second, I am not giving back until you learn to yell. You are way to quiet." Mary rolled her eyes and took out her phone and started scrolling on it. At his angle Jake saw that she was reading on I-books. However Emily took that away too.

"Seriously? I already had a run in with Stephanie and now you are taking my stuff." Mary said annoyed. He had never seen her that annoyed.

"What did Stephanie do?" Alex questioned her. Jake already told Alex what she did but he knew that is would be weird not to ask. He also wanted the full story.

"Tripped me. For no reason but I don't really care. I deal with it everyday so it doesn't matter."

"Then why are you so upset?" Alex responded curiously.

"Well one, it isn't fun to be tripped. Two, now stuff has been taken." Mary shot a glare at Emily. " Three, I have stuff to do and my dad yelled at me for waking up too late, yet I was still here early." The way she said dad made Jake think. She said it like her wasn't real. Like she wanted to put air quotes around it. But Jake knew better than to ask. She was annoyed enough already. "Now Seriously Em. Give me my things. I have to go home."

"What about school" Jake asked.

"I have things to get done today. The teachers know I am leaving but that notebook was my extra homework I have today in the classes I am skipping. Now Emily give me my things."

"Fine here you go. Text me when school is out." Mary nodded and left in the direction of the lockers.

"Wow. Who knew Mary could actually get annoyed. Bravo to her." Alex said.

"You would be surprised exactly how upset she gets. She can yell. Loud too. Just, not in public." Emily said annoyed.

"She can?! But, she.. she cant even speak loud enough during presentations sometimes."
Alex half yelled surprised. Jake was as well.

Soon the bell rang signaling that they had to clean up and head to their next class.

Ok so that was a fun chapter to write. I am so excited today because it is finally Saturday!! Yay!!! So I haven't been posting that much because I have been feeling crappy for sometime. I was pranked kind of. However it wasn't a prank to me. The boys decided to humiliate me in a quiet way and one of them called me fat so I have been dwelling over it. My friends say I am not fat but still. It is natural for a brain to think that when someone calls you fat. So excuse me if I don't post soon. I am sorry. Anyway bye! :)
