Mary's P.O.V.
"Come on we have to get the dresses!" Emily yelled at me standing in the door way to my closet/bathroom.
"Hold on." I was putting my hair up in a crown braid and a bun.
"Oh no you don't." Emily came around and took out my braid and bun.
"Hey! That took a lot of time!"
"It took you 10 minutes. Besides, Jake said he liked it down and so did everyone else."
"Except Stephanie." I pointed out sour filling my voice.
"Yeah, yeah. But hey, no one cares about that bitch. Anyways, you have to change."
"Why?" I looked down at my outfit. I had on white jeans, a light baby pink T-shirt, a necklace and white vans.
"Because. What if boys come? They need to check you out. Not gag." I rolled my eyes. Em always cared about appearances and they way boys would look at her. Even if she was dating someone. She wouldn't cheat, just cared about her looks. And apparently now mine.
"Ok what should I wear?" I crossed my arms.
"This!" She thrust an outfit in front of me. It was sort jean shorts with a red noodle strap tank top that had the straps cross diagonally in the back. There were also sandals to complete the look.
"Emily it is too cold for this. It is 53 degrees for crying out loud. And way too revealing."
"Nonsense. We just went to the beach."
"Last week at 70 degrees! I was kinda cold then. And you said that we were taking advantage of the weather then! Not now."
"Pish posh! Just change!"
"You aren't letting go of this are you?"
"Nope!" Em crossed her arms satisfied with herself.
"Ugh fine!" I quickly changed into it already feeling slightly cold. "Alright come one." I grabbed her hand and led her down the stairs.
We were making our way out the door when Jack called us out. Honestly I had the worst luck when it came to me leaving the house.
"Mary what do you think you are wearing?"
"Clothes."
"Change. It is way too cold for that." I smirked thinking that I had just said that to Emily who was standing behind me hoping I wouldn't blame her for it. I wouldn't. Jack and I arguing over something I knew I could win easily always gave me a smile.
"It is fine. Besides! I am 17, I think I am old enough to decide what I wear. Anyway we have to leave. We both need dresses for this dance and if you stop me someone is gonna end up with a black eye and it wont be me." I walked out and shut the door.
"Awesome! I recorded that. You can be really sassy and scary when you want to be."
"I guess. It just comes easy with Jack. I hate him so much that words just slide off my tongue."
"Well I love that it happens that way. I just wish it happened that way when we are at school."
"Same but I don't hate people at school the way I hate Jack. Stephanie isn't like him. She didn't corrupt my mother into thinking she is awesome and full of love. She showed her how mean she was by tripping me in front of my mom and not noticing her. She also stated that my mom probably thinks she is awesome since she doesn't know what she does."
"Ha! I bet the shock she felt was epic!"
"It was cool, but we are here. No more talk about Jack or Stephanie. Come on."
