Percy's POV
A/N. If you have read this before I rewrote the entire chapter. It's much better!"Perseus Jackson. Get UP!" Grover smacked me on the head with a rolled-up newspaper. I groaned.
"No," I mumbled and turned over in my blankets. I was too comfortable to get up, much less wake-up.
I heard Grover sigh. He was such a drag on interview days.
INTERVIEW TODAY.
Oh man, Grover really did need me to get up.
Before Grover could smack me on the head again with his newspaper I bolted out of bed and into my bathroom. I stared into the black-haired, tan, sea green-eyed superstar in the mirror. And he looked slightly depressed and tired.
I dressed as quickly as I could, skinny jeans with frayed bottoms, a clean white shirt and the black leather jacket I always reserved for Aphrodites. I slipped on my favorite pair of blue converse, they were a bit stained and muddy from earlier but they would make do. I brushed my teeth, slapped on some deodorant and was ready before I knew it. I didn't bother to comb my hair.
Grover stood outside the door with a somewhat satisfied look on his furry face and opened the front door, so we could leave and head uptown.
The misty city of San Fransisco whipped by, rolling hills, a churning grey ocean and plenty of skyscrapers grazing the clouds. It wasn't anything like New York with the hustle and bustle, it was a little quieter, not by much though, there was plenty of people enjoying their morning coffee and walking their way to work. I wonder what it must feel like to be normal. To have real family, real friends, and real-life, not a daydream plucked into the midst of reality.
The limo stopped at a huge modern complex in the hills, a big heart sign out front with Aphrodite scrawled across it in fancy glowing letters. I smiled faintly. It was always fun to see Aphrodite. She normally did her shows in New York or L.A but she had complexes around the globe in which she visited. And San Fransisco happened to be one of them.
I stepped out and thanked the driver before he sped off in the other direction. When we got inside Grover headed in the opposite direction, probably to meet up with some friends he had made with Aphrodite.
The place smelled like coffee and vanilla, it was better than designer perfume and the reek of roses and love. Yes, anything better than the l word.
"Percy!" Aphrodite ran up to me and gave me a hug. She was always stunningly beautiful. She always dyed her hair different colors and it was like her daughters, chocolate brown with braids down the side. Her kaleidoscope eyes matched Pipers, but Piper never liked them, Aphrodite wore a sleeveless white dress, white heels and several golden bangles on her arms. I always admired her beauty but never thought her to be hot or anything. She was my friend's mom.
"Hi, how are you?" I smiled and she pinched my cheek.
"I'm good. Now down to business. We air in twenty-five minutes. Lacy will comb that hair of yours and Michel will make sure you smell good." Aphrodite looked me up and down, making me blush. But before I could say I smelled decent she hustled off.
Lacy and Michel were waiting behind me, Lacy brought out a long yellow plastic comb which looked kind of like a kids doll comb but I didn't complain when she almost yanked out my hair. Michel who looked at me almost pitifully sprayed vanilla scent all around me, on my clothes and even on my hands. Just for Aphrodite's liking.
Twenty-six minutes later I was on live national television.
I sat down on a white leather couch next across from the stunning host. She smiled and waved at the crowd.
