Lexi and I sat on her bed, eating popcorn that she had smuggled from home and listening to our favourite songs. We had gotten back to our room by 11, and now we were just getting to know each other better.
"So," I began, waggling my eyebrows, "are you planning on doing anything about Jayson?" Lexi choked on her mouthful of popcorn, spluttering soggy kernels at me.
"What?" she cried once she had recovered.
"Well, it's obvious that you like him," I said. Lexi sighed, taking a small sip of her Fanta.
"Well," she said, dragging out the word whilst trying not to giggle. Needless to say, she failed. This time I was wiping droplets of drink off my face when I said to Lexi, "He likes you too, y'know?"
"He does not!"
"Does!"
"Does not!"
"HE SO DO-" I was interrupted by a knock on the door, and I heard a woman's voice call, "Keep it down girls!"
Lexi burst into laughter once again, and I had to work to stifle it this time since my efforts to stop her only seemed to make it more funny to her.
"Look, Jay's just a friend," Lexi told me, "I don't even like him that much."
"You so do!"
"No I- let's not start this again," Lexi suggested with a smile. I agreed, and took another handful of popcorn.
"Well, did you like the look of any of them?" Lexi asked. I shook my head, "I didn't really think of any of them in that way to be honest," I told her. Lexi scoffed, "Oh right, so you were just staring at Jacob because...?"
"I was not staring at him! He's not even that attractive..."
"Yeah, and I don't like Jay," Lexi countered.
"Okay! So I kinda thought he was cute," I told her, instantly turning red.
She laughed, and exclaimed excitedly, "I knew it!"
"Was I really staring?" I asked, worried.
"Nah, I only noticed 'cause I'm a girl," she reassured me. I smiled at her, and she grinned back at me.
"Y'know, I'm really glad you're my roommate, Kerri. I think we're going to be really good friends," Lexi said. I laughed, and jumped on her to give her a hug.
"Aren't we already?" I cried, blowing kisses at her. She grinned,
"'Course! You know, I only ever really had guy friends before. I usually just hang with Jayson and Adam, so usually Jacob and Clark are there too. But I don't know them two as well," she told me.
"Well," I said, "you have me now."
