"Well, so much for everything being great," I muttered sullenly under my breath as I stared after a retreating Charlie. It seemed like once again he had decided to royally confuse me.
"Hey," Lexi said as she slid a comforting hand onto my shoulder. It only reminded me of Anna and Jacob.
"Are you alright? You look kinda p/ssed."
"I'm fine, it's just...she's just so...urgh!"
"I know," Lexi said, patting my shoulder, "if it helps, we all hate her too."
"Thanks, but I don't think that'll stop her."
"You know what will? The small fact that Jacob already has an awesome girlfriend who he's crazy about!" I smiled.
"You really think so?"
"Of course! I've never seen him like this before," Lexi said.
"Like what?"
"Happy," she said with a smirk, "he's usually just a grumpy g/t!"
"Hey! That's my boyfriend you're talking about," I replied defensively, secretly finding it very funny.
"Exactly! You already got him, wheras Anna will forever be a lonely-"
"I get it," I interrupted Lexi, since a teacher who looked distinctly Miss Trunchbull-esqe walked past at that exact moment.
"Just don't worry about her Kerri, she's not worth it. What you should be worrying about is how to ace your audition later!"
I flung my face into my hands.
"Of course! Oh Lex, please help me!" She smiled.
"As if I would leave you alone on this, we all know you would be nothing without me," she told me grandly.
"Definitely, without you I would be completely useless, now help me!" I cried, grabbing her wrist and dragging her out into the main hall.
"We have a free period first, so we need to go and find somewhere quiet where we can rehearse uninterrupted," she said, stopping to think in the large hall. Now it was my turn to smile.
"I know the perfect place."
