Kerri's P.O.V

I couldn't believe it! I had managed to remember all of my lines, and eveyone in the audience was applauding me like mad. I was beaming as I began to walk off stage and over to where Adam was waiting with Lexi, when someone in the crowd caught my eye. Jacob was sitting near the back, smiling at me. Jacob was smiling at me? This was definitely a weird day, since it was just this morning I had told him what I did. It was only this morning I did it. Nevertheless, I tried to smile back at Jacob, but he was looking away at something else. Before I saw what it was, he was gone, so I just carried on to Adam and Lexi.

"Kerri, that was amazing!" Adam cried, pulling me into a hug as we all moved backstage.

"I'm sure you will be too, you're on next," I replied, smiling at Adam before turning to Lexi,

"You were great Lex, no doubt in my mind who'll be playing Jane."

"Thanks Kerri," she said, smiling. We could all feel the giant elephant that was backstage with us, so I decided to just get it over with.

"I just want to say, I'm really grateful for you two both sticking with me, after what I did to-"

"Kerri! Of course! I was so mad at Jayson earlier when I thought he was going to do something to you! I mean, God!"

"Thank you Lexi," I said, grinning. She grinned, then pulled me into a giant hug, just as the audience started applauding. We both laughed at the coincidence, then pulled apart and turned to Adam.

"Hey superstar, you're on," Lexi told him with a small shove.

He gulped, then gave us both a weak smile and went out onto the stage. "He'll do great," I said to Lexi. She nodded, and turned to watch Adam through a gap in the curtain.

"Oh my gosh, this is kind of cringey. There's like, 15 girls swooning and making eyes at him Kerri," Lexi informed me, giggling.

"What's he doing?" I asked, wanting to know all the details.

"Uh, nothing. He's just getting on with his lines and ignoring all of them, even Sally!" Lexi gasped.

"Oh my- wait, who's Sally?" I asked in puzzlement.

"They dated a few years ago. She dumped him for some foreign exchange kid, and Adam was hung up on her for ages after that. I thought he still kind of liked her, but I guess he's over that now."

"I guess."

After another minute of Lexi and I swapping to peer around the curtain and feeding each other details, the audience erupted into applause. Lexi pulled her head back to reveal a wide smile.

"They're cheering almost as much as they did for the last guy!" she announced happily, then turned to pull the curtain aside for a glowing Adam.

"How did I do?" he asked, laughing as he embraced Lexi and I. We both chorused his praise.

"How cool would it be if we all get into the play?" Adam asked as he let us both go.

"Um, you guys would have to kiss," Lexi reminded us both, which caused Adam to wink and wiggle about suggestively while I just giggled, batted my lashes and cooed,

"Well, we are happily married, aren't we pookey?"

"Indeed we are, my little snuggums."

"Get me out of here," Lexi droned, her face flat.

"Is little Lexi feeling left out?" I asked her in a baby voice, pinching her cheek. Adam laughed, then picked her up, holding her while he blew raspberries into her face.

"Oh my God!" Lexi cried, pleading with Adam to drop her. When he did, he slung a casual arm around both of our shoulders, still hugging a grumpy looking Lexi.

"Shall we go meet our adoring fans?" Adam suggested, grinning then pulling us both out into a still full Drama studio. Instantly, Lexi and I were pushed aside by the screaming girls that swamped Adam.

"He's not a boyband!" Lexi shouted irritably, trying in vain to grab Adam out of the mess.

Then we heard Adam calling out over the cries of adolescant females,

"Hey, hey, I have a girlfriend! Actually, I have two," he said, appearing before us with a sly smile, "sorry ladies," he called back as he replaced his arms and began to lead us out, sauntering away from the dumbfounded girls.

"I like being famous," he told us as we exited the studio. Lexi just rolled her eyes behind his back at me. Luckily Adam didn't hear me laugh.
