Jacob's P.O.V
I watched Kerri talk to Anna for a few minutes before she walked away. I almost got caught, but luckily Kerri wasn't too sharp with this sort of thing. I laughed at that, then remembered why I was here and began to walk across the landing to Anna's door. I knocked and she opened with a very annoyed expression on her face, which got even worse when she saw me. This all resulted in a door being smashed into me, and I only managed to get into the room because I forced my elbow in before she shut it. Looks like Kerri wasn't the only slow one.
"What the f/uck are you doing here!" she screamed at me, still trying to slam the door into my shoulder.
"Anna, I came down because you were meant to meet me 15 minutes ago," I told her slowly, trying to calm her down by placing a hand on her arm. It had the opposite effect.
"Don't you touch me you disgusting pig! I've just had your bl/oody girlfriend in here you d/ick!" she carried on screaming, ramming the door again and again. This was definitely going to leave a bruise.
"Anna, that's what I wanted to talk to you about!" I shouted at her, and in her momentary confusion at my shouting I shoved the door aside and barged in.
"I wanted to tell you that I don't want this to change anything between us. You're still my go to girl," I told her, moving closer to her. I flashed a tentative smile at her, knowing it would work. If I had to pick one person I knew that was shallow, it would be Anna. Her idea of a perfect man would be a cross between Brad Pitt and a Hollister model.
"Why are you back with her then?" she asked me, not taking it straight away.
"Because if everyone still thinks we're dating, then so will Adam," I told her. Her eyes glinted at that.
"He likes her too, doesn't he?" she asked me, and I nodded.
"He really does, and so if he knows she doesn't like him back it'll hurt him."
"Like he hurt me," Anna said.
It was almost impressive how she had held this grudge against Adam for so long. They had gone out in year 9, and it had lasted a couple of months before Adam realised Anna's somewhat...psychopathic tendencies. He had broken up with her, and she had been harbouring a grudge and a broken heart ever since. Then I came along, with my post-puberty good looks, and Anna had found a new obsession. Now I had given her a way to pair her new obsession with her old one, and I was sure she would take the bait. Soon enough, she was grinning at the thought of a crushed Adam, and I was grinning because of the hot girl sitting on top of me glued to my face. The best part? Kerri never needed to know. Anna would keep the secret because she thought that my relationship with Kerri was just a front, and I could keep all my interactions with Kerri private and she would just think it was romantic. It was the ultimate two for one deal, enabling me to maintain the physical things I needed, and my popularity, my superiority over my friends, and the perfect poster girlfriend. I mean, Kerri was gorgeous but she never put out much. Not like Anna.
