"What's her name, love?" Tyler asked, as he lay next to me on the hospital bed. I heard the precious little baby in my hands, as she slept peacefully.
"She's so pretty, I think I'll name her Talia Rose." I told him, as he kissed my forehead. I looked down at my engagement ring, sparkling on my left ring finger. Tyler was the guy I loved, but it all felt so strange.
We were a family now, and I was going to be his wife. But I was also going to be my enemies stepmom. And I'm younger than her....
"Talia Rose Starr. The name is almost as pretty as her." Tyler whispered, as he took Talia from me. She was a gorgeous baby, with soft brown hair and blue eyes. She mostly took after me, except her tan skin. Tyler was a mixed Mexican, so she did have some Mexican features.
"I know that we are just engaged, and you are 18. I want you to live with me so bad." Tyler sighed, as he stroked Talias soft hair.
" I will be fine, even though Jamar lives right above me... and I don't have anyone to babysit her...." I sighed, stress starting to come to me.
"You can drop out of school Sam. I will provide for you." Tyler offered, as he wrapped his arm around me. The nurse came in and took the baby, and left us alone in the room.
"I- I can't... I don't want to end up like my mother. She dropped out of school when she had me... now she's working nonstop at factories." I sighed, not wanting to repeat her past. But I guess I already have...
"You are not going to be like her. You are nothing like her Sam. If you want to go to school still, I'll respect your wishes. But just know, I will give you everything you need. I love you" Tyler told me tenderly, as he squeezed my hand. So many thoughts were rushing through my mind right now. I needed to rest, but I also needed a plan.
"I will stay with Talia for about a month or two while I do school work at home. After that, I'm hoping my mom can watch her until I graduate. She's about to retire soon anyway..." I sighed, laying back down on my bed. Tyler and I fell asleep in each other's arms, tired from all the drama and hospital stuff. It felt right in his muscular arms. It felt like we were meant to be.
But you know what they say about happiness. It doesn't last forever...
