I wake up with a hand gently stroking through my hair. My eyes flutter a bit until they open droopy and I smile a little when I see Harley's face peering at me.
"You fell asleep so I just left you be," he whispers and I giggle quietly.
I lean up a bit, noticing he's pyjamas. "What time is it?" I yawn.
"Half one."
"In the morning?"
"Yeah."
"Roof time?"
"Yeah."
I smile as I clamber out of the bed and dive towards the window, throwing it open as Harley laughs and tells me to be quiet. We climb out and I stop for a moment, realising there's a blanket with a hoard of pillows and a bunch of candles.
I look to Harley and he smiles sheepishly and I throw myself at him and we fall into a fit of giggles.
We go over to the blanket and sit on the pillows, cuddling up together. He throws the blanket over us and I snuggle into him, leaning my head on his shoulder as his arm snakes around my waist.
He lets out a small sigh and I look up to him, smiling as he looks back down at me. "What's up?" I ask him.
"Have you ever been in love?" He replies and I smile a bit more, looking back to the star covered sky.
"Yes," I say. It's true. I've been in love, and I'd like to think that I'm in love right now. With Parker.
"Me too," he says and I look back at him.
"Really? When?"
"Now. Then. Always. I haven't fallen out of love."
I raise my eyebrows. He's never mentioned being in love before. He's not really open with his emotions.
"Don't look at me like that," he says and I laugh a little.
"Like what?"
"Like I'm incapable of falling in love."
He looks off at the starry sky and I can't help but stare at him.
"I've been in love for years."
"Seriously? You're not joking?"
"I swear down on my life."
"And you've never fallen out of love with this person?"
"Never."
"That's amazing."
"They're amazing."
I can't help but grin. I find it so sweet. "You'll need to tell me about this person someday."
"I will. Someday."
And then we just cuddle and watch the star-filled sky.

I wake up with a jolt, sweat dripping off of me. I had a nightmare which is pretty unusual, I'm not used to them. Harley looks at me with slight concern, he's obviously been awake for a bit.
He holds a hand to my forehead. "Are you okay?" He yelps and I nod.
"I think so," I squeak and he quickly wraps his arms around me, kissing my head.
"I'm glad," he mumbles, staying still for a moment. It makes me confused.
He lets go of me and I blink a few times. "School."
"Yeah, about that..."
"Harley! What time is it?"
He falls quiet for a moment and I let out a groan, sitting up and kicking the covers off of myself.
He lets out a squeak and grabs my shirt, pulling back down on the bed. I laugh and he laughs and he wraps his arms around me.
"We have two hours before our first period," he finally mumbles and I smile a bit. "I don't need to go to my first three classes."
"Two of mine are free periods anyway."
He smiles and I smile and he kisses my cheek.
~
"Fuck!" I yell, looking at the shattered plate on the floor. Harley comes running through and when he sees the ceramic plate, all he does is laugh.
His parents aren't home and his sisters are at school. I love being home alone with him, it's the best time. I'm trying to make breakfast but it's not going well. I can cook fine but it's always the starting process.
"We have another hour and a half before we need to go in."
"Fuck," I say again.
"Yeah."
I laugh a bit more before managing to get the pancake mixture into a pan without breaking something. Harley cleans up the broken plate and the previous glass I also dropped. I love him.
After about ten minutes we're finally made and ate the pancakes.
I start to get ready for school but I manage to get stuck in my binder, my chest bone has swollen a bit because I barely have the binder off.
I swear under my breath before calling for Harley. He wanders in and stop and stares at me and I stare back at him. He smiles when he notices my binder and he comes over, helping me pull it down.
He disappears as the material goes over my head and then he reappears and I swear his smile is even cuter when I see him again. He leans up and presses a kiss to my forehead and I close my eyes, savouring how much I care for my best friend.
He sits on the bed as I keep getting ready and for some reason it doesn't bother me. It's not the first time. And besides, he's looking at his phone most of the time.
I finish getting ready and I lay back on the bed, earning a laugh and a hug from Harley before he starts to get ready, whistling as he does so. He's always been shy about his body so his cheeks flush a little when he takes his shirt off to replace it with another. He shouldn't be though, he's pretty fit. Not that I'm looking.
We wander downstairs again, watching an episode of our favourite programme before it's time to head to school. I haven't seen Parker since she stayed over and I'm a little nervous. But I know deep down that I shouldn't be. If she loves me like she says she does, she won't be mad.
Harley mumbles something about us having to get a bus and I nod. We both walk up to the bus stop and wait for a bus.
When we sit down, he shuffles a bit closer to me and takes my hand, intertwining our fingers. I stare out of the window and he squeezes my hand.
I love him.
