I bite my lip.
I'm staring at Adam. I'm outside and he's sitting on a bench with Dylan; they're just talking. He's smiling. He doesn't seem too upset over our fight. It stings a bit.
I went home and cried after the fight with Harley and Adam. Josh stayed with me the entire night. I'm only alone now because I insisted I was fine. I'm not, obviously. Tears are streaming down my face again.
I swallow harshly as he glances my way, noticing me. His lips stretch into a tight line and he mutters something to Dylan. He gets up and leaves Adam alone. Adam beckons me over.
I blink a few times before scuffing my feet over to him, sitting on the bench. He stares at me, expecting me to do something. I don't.
I just sit and he just sits and we sit in silence. But it's not the type of silence that I like. It's the type of silence that stings. For him and I.
"I'm such a bitch," I laugh, barely comprehending the words that leave my mouth.
"Grace," he starts but I interrupt him.
"Don't. I don't deserve anything you say to me. You've been nothing but nice to me and I snapped at you because I was mad at Harley. It was unfair. I don't deserve your forgiveness and I don't deserve to be your friend and I-"
"Grace. It's okay."
And those two words are enough to make me cry. The tears roll down my cheeks and he wraps his arms around me and I feel so safe in his arms.
"I miss him so much," I sob and he strokes my hair.
"I can tell."
"I've lost a part of me."
"I'm sure he's lost a part of him, too. He used to talk non-stop about you."
"H-He did?"
"Of course he did. He cares a lot about you, he's just a bit lost right now. Give him time, he'll find himself again."
I give him a little squeeze and he smiles, patting my head.
"I promise."

Adam hangs out with us at lunch. I introduce him to everyone and he sits next to me and Josh and I think Josh flirts with him a little. Adam isn't uncomfortable about it which is good, Josh sometimes doesn't know when to stop.
Lovelle talks to me about Harley and Parker's leg curls around mine under the table, she's sitting across from me. She holds my hand too and we steal smiles at each other. I'm still unsure about everything that's happened with her.
"Sounds like a bitch fight," Oscar butts in when I'm finished talking about everything that had happened the previous night.
Oliver slaps his arm. "Oscar! Stay out of it."
"No, it's okay," I mumble. "If he'd had the chance, I think he'd have thrown a punch at me."
"I'll talk to him," Lovelle says. "You know him, he listens to me. If he acts weird around me, we know there's something insanely wrong."
It's true, Lovelle and Harley are probably the closest out of all of us in the group, only excluding Oliver and Oscar.
I nod. "Alright," I mumble and Lovelle nods, immediately getting up.
"He'll be with Harvey," Adam butts in and Lovelle looks at him.
"Where does he hang out?"
Adam shakes his head. "Lots of places, but mainly the benches outside." He looks to me. "Where you found me."
"Ah," I mumble and nod to Lovelle. She shrugs but leaves anyway, I think she knows where we mean.
I look at Adam and he smiles weakly at me. "It'll all be okay," he mumbles.
I glance up at Lovelle and she's staring at the entrance to the cafeteria and I'm confused. Tiffany, who managed to come to school today, follows her girlfriend's gaze and her mouth falls open. I start to look over but Adam cups my cheek, shaking his head. "Don't look," he whispers and my stomach drops, I already know who it is.
My hand swats his away and I look. Harley has walked into the cafeteria with Harvey's arm around him. Kelly's on the other side of him and her two 'minions' are following after her. They all stop in the middle of the cafeteria and I just realise that the entire place has gone quiet. Adam stands up and eyes Harvey. Harvey eyes him back and smirks a bit. Adam shakes his head and sits a hand on my shoulder. Harvey looks way.
Kelly and her two friends, a brunette called Lisa and a blonde called Rebecca, strut over to a table, quietly telling the people sitting there to basically fuck off. The three people that were sitting there stand up and scamper off.
I can't take my eyes off of Harley. He's got this look on his face that tells everyone he's the king. He rules the school. I don't understand how he could gain so much power within a few days. I start to stand up but Adam squeezes my shoulder, advising against it. I nod and stay sitting.
Lovelle storms up to Harley and towers over him. Tiffany runs after her and grasps her arm, ready to pull her back if she needs to. Harley's face seems to soften at her but Harvey stays hard. I can hear their conversation because the place is so quiet.
"You fucking asshole!"
"Lovelle!"
"Tiffany, stay the hell out of this. I don't want you near him."
"Lovelle, I don't understand-"
Lovelle laughs. "You know exactly what I'm taking about, prick."
"Watch your mouth," Harvey spits but Harley shakes his head.
"Stay out of this. You don't know her."
"I know she has no respect for you."
"Damn right I don't!"
"Lovelle! Stop it! Just come back to the table."
"Do what the mouse says."
"Harvey, I told you. Stay out of this."
I hold my head and try to grasp hold of everything that's going on. Kelly walks over to Lovelle and stands close to her, the two are just as intimidating.
"Is there a problem?" She mutters, puffing her chest out.
Lovelle bites her lip and Tiffany tugs on her arm. "C'mon, Elle. Stop this."
Lovelle shakes her head. "If I could, I'd slap that little smirk off your face."
Kelly grins. "Why don't you, dyke?"
Harley butts in. "Don't you dare call her that again."
Kelly looks a little taken aback but shuts up, she knows Harvey won't hesitate.
Lovelle clenches her fists and looks from Harley back to Kelly. "You're lucky your little king was there to save your ugly ass face. Otherwise, it'd be clawed."
Kelly just smirks and Tiffany is finally able to drag Lovelle away.
They come sit back down at the table and Lovelle looks as though she could punch someone. Tiffany whimpers and Elle wraps an arm around her, cuddling her close. "I'm sorry, baby. You know how I get."
I look to Adam and he's staring at Kelly, she's staring back. He furrows his eyebrows and she shoots him a look. She then smirks and sits down at their claimed table, followed by the others.
Adam sits down and looks at me, his eyes glassy.
"What happened?" I mumble, but I already know.
"She's gone." He bites his lip. "We're over."
"I'm sorry."
"I'm not. She's not herself." He shakes his head. "This is Harley's doing."
