Losing a Star

I hoped to see the stars tonight
Because I miss how you lit up
My life like the stars
Everytime you smile at me
And your eyes makes
My heart sing a different kind
Of symphony.

But the city lights
In that unfamiliar place
Lit up before my eyes
And I don't understand why
Even with the absence of the stars
I felt warm...

And I felt scared for a second
Because the darkness that it conquered
Was the same darkness that came
And yet those lights were different.

I was afraid...
