they all told her she was mad, that she had a few screws lose, they told her that her wild color hair make her seem crazy that her style of clothes were weird. She started to believe all their words, she stopped coloring her hair different colors and allowed it to go back to her natural color, she stopped telling people her thoughts and ideas because they told her how odd they were, she stopped seeing everything in her unique view, she started to lose herself and the light in her eyes all because they called her mad in the head. She sits on a bench sadly watching all the people walk past her, as she watches them all hurrying around a thought went though her head, 'am I truly mad or is everyone else mad and I'm sane?' her eyes went wide at the realization that she was not in fact mad but she was unique, everything from her hair to how she sees the world around her. she rushes home and goes to the bathroom hair dye in her hands, after an hour she comes out her short hair now a rainbow of different colors, the light in her eyes starting to come back she was feeling like her true self again, she looked at her mirror and stuck her tongue out at her reflection "if they're going to call me mad then might as well be as mad as the hatter" she says with a laugh as she puts a top hat on top of her head.
A/N I know this isn't a very dark poem but I like the idea of it I'll probably start another poetry book of non dark poems as well. and I've always loved the mad hatter so when every someone told me I must be mad I always replied with as the hatter. the look on their faces is always priceless. -skellington_girl95
