She can hear the knocking on the door, she looks up from her spot on the ground.

She can hear the people on the other side of it,
They call her name as they knock louder.

She hugs her knees to her chest as she closes her eyes wishing the people would go away.

They tell her to open the door as they knock harder, she ignores their words.

She can hear more people talking as they pound more on the door.

Please open it so we can help you, one of them say as they stopped knocking.

She slowly stands on shaky legs and heads towards the door.

She puts her hand on the door as she leans her head on it, she knows they're all worried about her.

A tear rolls down her face as she lets out a shaky breath.

I can't let you in, I can't let the darkness get you too, She tells them as she backs away from the door.

They began pounding harder and louder on the door, their screaming something to her but she blocks them out.

She sits back on the floor bringing her legs back to her chest, she lays her chin on her knees as the tears fall from her face.

If I stay in here everyone else will be safe from the darkness, as long as I keep the door shut, she thinks as she glances at the door one last time.
