Kuro's POV
(Y/n) scratched behind my ears and I let out a soft purr. My tail swishes back and forth as she strokes the fur on my back gently, all the while humming to herself. The TV's on but neither of us is paying attention.
"Hey Kuro, are you the only SerVamp?"
I look up at her. "No, just the oldest."
"How many of you are there?"
"Seven," I said lazily. "I'm the SerVamp of Sloth, Sleepy Ash."
"Sloth, as in 'Seven Deadly Sins' Sloth?" she asked, curiosity written all over her face.
"Bingo. Old Child is the SerVamp of Pride, Doubt Doubt is the SerVamp of Envy, The Mother is the SerVamp of Wrath, Lawless is the SerVamp of Greed, World End is the SerVamp of Gluttony and All of Love is the SerVamp of Lust."
"You're forgetting someone." a high pitched voice says.
I jump up from (Y/n) lap, switching back to my human form and whirling toward the window, only now realizing that it's broken. Perched on a railing outside is a man with bright pink hair that's tied back into a ponytail with a white top hat sitting atop his head.
(Y/n) stands next to me. "Friend of yours?"
"He's about as much as a friend to me as those girls were to you."
"Good morning, Sleepy Ash!" He says, laughing maniacally. "You've made Tsubaki very mad and I agree with him when he tells me-"
He removes his top hat and pulls out three sharp swords. "That it's time for you to DIE!"
He leaps through the window and glass shards scatter across the floor. I push (Y/n) out of the way as he throws one of his swords at us.
"DIE, SLEEPY ASH!" he shouts, sounding like a madman.
"What a pain," I mutter.
All I can do is dodge because, without a permanent contract, I have no weapons. Something dawns on (Y/n)'s face and I know she realizes this too. Before I can react she flings her arm into my mouth, forcing me to bite her skin. As soon as I do I see a blue light circles her wrist and my neck, binding them in a glowing aqua chain.
"Well now, isn't this interesting!" the man shrieks. "Doesn't matter, killing both of you will be easy!"
My hands change to black and split into two sharp points. I launch myself at the man and slash him across his chest.
"Ow!" he shouted.
Then there was a poof and in his place was a small puppet that looked like a cuter, less menacing version of him. (Y/n) bends down and picks him up.
"Is he... dead?" she asks skeptically.
"Eh hehe, of course I'm not!" the puppet says in a cute cartoonish voice. "I'm a vampire you stupid, stupid, stupid human!"
I spear his hat with my claws and shake him a bit.
"Stop, don't shake me I have bad motion sickness."
"So whose this Tsubaki person you mentioned earlier?" she said, leaning closer to the puppet.
"He's my master of course!" the puppet cackles. "And he hates Sleepy Ash! You have some powerful enemies kitty!"
"Not my problem. I don't think I know anyone by the name of Tsubaki,"
"That's right, you don't know him SerVamp. That poor, poor, poor Tsubaki, no one knows who he is! That's why he wants blood to rain down! That's why Tsubaki wants to kill so badly! To destroy his siblings, humans, society, the whole world! He wants everyone who doesn't know who he is to die!"
"It's not my fault I don't know who this guy is," I say. "What a pain."
The chains disappear and my claws go with it. The little puppet falls to the floor and (Y/n) picks him up. "I have the perfect place to put him."
She walks into the hallway and moments later I hear something heavy slamming. I run to her room, afraid that the puppet had attacked her. I stopped in the doorway when I saw her kneeling down, fidgeting with a large combination lock.
"Let me out!" came a muffled voice.
"Nope." (Y/n) said.
"Where'd the puppet go?" I ask.
She finished with the lock and stood up. "He's inside this," she said, patting the top of the safe. "Three inches of solid steel. He isn't goin' anywhere any time soon."
"And you have a three inch thick safe because?"
"I used to keep my money in here. After a year sitting under my desk, it's finally getting some use."
"This is unacceptable! I demand to be let out!" the puppet said from inside the safe.
"Denied."
The doorbell rang and (Y/n) went to answer it. I heard her unlock it and begin speaking to the person on the other side. The conversation started off quiet but soon she started to shout. "I DID NOTHING WRONG! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO THIS!"
I rush into the hallway and stop when I see a female cop begin to poke around the living room. She looks up and sees me standing in the hallway. "We got another one," she shouts over her shoulder to someone I can't see.
"Kuro!" (Y/n) shouts. "Go! Get out- mmf!"
"Hey kid," the officer says calmly as she walks towards me. "We need you to come down to the station and answer some questions. We don't want to force you but if you resist we'll have no choice."
"Why can't we answer your questions here?" I growl.
"Because we're supposed to ask them down at the station."
I stall for a second, making her think I'll cooperate but at the last minute I run past her. I turn the corner and see (Y/n) being restrained by two officers.
"Let her go!" I shout, throwing myself at the guards.
Unfortunately, my fight with the vampire weakened me so when the female cop slammed me against the wall, I couldn't resist. She slapped a pair of handcuffs on my wrist and led us outside of the apartment. I looked up at the sky and watched as big heavy raindrops started to fall from the cloudy sky.
(Y/n) looked at me and I read her eyes. At least it's not sunny.
The officers shoved us into the back of a police cruiser that was parked out front. I didn't talk to (Y/n) during the ride for fear of the officers overhearing. So we sat in silence as the police began to drive through the downpour.
