(Y/n) POV
"Can I see those papers?" you ask, holding out your hand.
"No," Misono said, storing them in his jacket.
"And why not?"
"It's classified," he said, looking down his nose at you as if you were a lesser being.
You start to get annoyed. "I have every right to know why the heck the police arrested me!"
The limo drove over a speed bump and everyone was bounced up into the air. Kuro crawled into your lap and stretched out his little paws before going to sleep. Lily let out a small laugh.
"That's Sloth alright,"
The car began to slow down and pulled up in front of a giant mansion. The driver got out and opened the door for you and you picked Kuro up and stepped out into the chilly morning air. You stood looking up at the mansion in awe.
"Are you coming or not?" Misono shouted as he walked towards the house.
You hurry after him as he opens the large doors and walks inside. The interior of the building was just as extravagant as the outside. Misono sat down in an ornate chair with Lily standing next to him.
"Eve of Sloth, Take out your lead, please."
You stare at him, confused. "My what?"
Misono rolled his eyes. "Your lead, your weapon."
"I'm confused."
"Are you telling me," Misono said, leaning forward in his chair. "that you have no weapon?"
"Is it that obvious?" You say, crossing your arms.
Lily appears next to you and grabs Kuro off your shoulder where he had been slumbering peacefully.
"Wake up Sleepy Ash."
Kuro opened one sleepy eye, looked from you to Misono, and then shut it again.
"Let me try," You say, holding out your hand.
Lily gave you the slumbering cat and you flipped him upside down, shaking him vigorously.
"This is animal abuse!" he shouts as you eventually slow down.
You toss him back to Lily who catches him with ease. "Sleepy Ash, you need to give your Eve a lead."
"But it's such a pain..." he moans.
"Sleepy Ash..." Lily says, raising his voice like an angry parent.
"Fine, fine, fine."
He poofed back into his human form and closed his eyes, looking as though he was concentrating hard on something. At first, nothing happens, but then a white light begins to engulf you. You go to yell but no words come from your mouth. You have a feeling in your stomach as if your falling down
down
down.
Darkness is all you can see, pitch black nothingness. Then you reach the bottom and are placed gently on your feet. A small, black, creature waddles up to you. He looks like a handmade stuffed animal, button eyes and obvious stitching give it a homemade quality.
"Hello," the little demon says, his voice sounds like a warbled version of Kuro's.
You look at him, curiously. "Kuro?"
The creature lets out a throaty laugh. "Oh no, I'm not Kuro, I just live in his subconscious."
"Subconscious?" You say, looking around the blackness.
"You're here in his mind." the imp replies. "Now, time to get down to business."
You look past him and see a pile of presents, all wrapped in colorful paper and tied with bright ribbons. Some have stripes, others have polka-dots, one even looked like it was moving.
"Go ahead, pick a present," he says, gesturing towards the pile of gifts. "Think of it as an early birthday present. But choose wisely cause you only get one."
You nod and slowly walk towards the boxes and inspect each one carefully. They all look tempting and a part of you is jealous that you can only have one. Suddenly a package appears in the corner of your vision. You pick it up and turn it over in your hands, admiring the ornate wrapping paper.
"This one," you say and the box detonates, surrounding you in a white light that blinds you. You open your eyes and see that your back in the mansion. Misono looks at you, his expression was full of curiosity despite his attempt to keep on a poker face.
"It's... a broom?"
You look down and realize that you're holding a long, black broom.
"Makes sense," Kuro says lazily. "She does all the cleaning."
You raise the broom over your head and bring it down on his skull. "You'll be doing it when we get back!"
Kuro rubs his head and looks to Misono and Lily for help.
Lily raises his hands. "Dug your own grave."
Kuro grumbled as he changed back to his cat form and hopped up onto your shoulder.
"My driver will take you home," Misono said as he saw us out.
"Thanks," You say. "Wait, Misono! Can I see your phone for a minute?"
"Why?"
"Cause I wanna add you as a friend!"
He hesitantly hands over his phone and you add your number to his contacts and do the same with your phone.
"Great! Now we can stay in touch easier." You say as you wave goodbye.
He waves back as the limo drives away. Kuro poofs back into his human form and sits down next to you.
"You took the papers didn't you?" he asks.
You slip your hand inside your jacket and pull out the stack of documents. "Yep."
"Thief," he mumbles under his breath.
"You want to know why we got arrested as much as I do so don't go shamin' me."
"Fine."
You look down at the first page and a sentence immediately jumps out at you. 'Attacked Koharu Matamori'. At the bottom, it says, 'Filed by Koharu Matamori'. You grind your teeth, your bully had accused you of attacking her!
This won't stand, You think. That girls gonna learn what it feels like to be the one whose bullied.
