Kuro's POV

(Y/n) dropped her bag on the floor as soon as she entered her apartment, with me still inside.

"This is kitty abuse," I whine.

She didn't respond or look at me, just turned down the hallway and slammed her bedroom door. I changed back to my human form and sat down on the couch. I don't know what she's so upset about, most humans would be excited to not have to go to school.

"Humans are weird," I mumble under my breath.

A muffled noise came from (Y/n)'s bedroom and it sounded like she was screaming into her pillow. The noise continued for a few minutes and I'm surprised she hasn't busted a vocal cord yet. She should look on the bright side, at least now those girls won't bother her.

(Y/n) POV

Your screams gradually fade to silence, leaving your throat feeling scratchy. Your tears had finally stopped falling but your pillow was still soaked. You didn't feel any better. You reached for the bedside drawer instinctively. You needed to cut. You needed to get rid of the pain. The hate. The anger. Your hand rested on the knob and you were about to pull it open and retrieve your x-acto knife when a thought froze your body.

Mom and Dad wouldn't have wanted this.

"Don't listen to them, (Y/n),"

"But Mom!"

"Stop crying sweetie, they don't deserve your tears."

"B-but th-they said th-that I was ugly!"

"You're not ugly, (Y/n), you're different, and that's good."

"R-really, Dad?"

"Of course. Being different means that you're special."

"Those girls all act the same, none of them are different, none of them are special."

"B-but they're a-all p-pretty..."

"Well so are you,"

"Always remember..."

You're our precious daughter.

You blinked a few times and the memories disappeared.

You slowly pulled your hand away from the drawer. Getting up from your messy bed, you walked to the window and opened it. The sky was blanketed by dark storm clouds, threatening to flood the Earth.

You grab your (F/c) hoodie off the floor where you had left it. You slowly pulled it on, the (F/c) fabric soft against your arms. The fire escape was right outside your window which led to a courtyard below. ((A/n) Your apartment complex is situated so that your room faces a courtyard with different alleyways branching off in different directions.)

You climbed out your window and started down the metal stairs, dropping down the last few feet onto the ground.

Plink

You looked up and another drop fell on your cheek. Pulling on your hood, you continue to walk as the rain starts to fall faster and harder. You walk through the maze of alleys, knowing exactly where you're going. Anyone else would've gotten lost by now, but for you, the route was engraved in your mind.

After a while, the buildings on either side of you started to look more and more run down, each in a worse state than the last. Eventually, the crumbling building gave way to another courtyard, this one wasn't as nice as the one outside your apartment. Weeds sprouted up from the cracks in the stone and vines were growing on the sides of the skeletal buildings.

In the middle of the courtyard was a large, circular patch of dirt, in the middle of which stood two wooden signs.

You walked onto the muddy dirt and knelt down in front of the wood, staining your pants.

Akihiko (L/n)

Akira (L/n)

An inscription started on one and ended on the other.

Akihiko (L/n)

Shining Prince, sleep well under-

Akira (L/n)

-the bright and clear dawn

"Hey Mom, Dad," You say, rain soaking through your hoodie and into your clothes.

"I know it's been a while, but... things have been a bit crazy the past few days. I met a guy a few days ago, and your probably not gonna believe me when I say this but... he's a vampire, or more specifically, a SerVamp, his name's Kuro, well, the name I gave him was Kuro.

"I made a contract with him, one I can't really break, and as soon as I did I was dragged into a war against another SerVamp, this one not so nice. His name's Tsubaki, he's supposedly the Eighth SerVamp, the SerVamp of Melancholy. You see, Kuro's the SerVamp of Sloth, and his six other siblings each represent one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

"Tsubaki wants revenge for something that happened between him and his siblings, and he's mad. Really mad. He wants to kill anyone who doesn't know who he is, which is to say, he wants to kill everyone."

It felt like the rain started to fall harder and faster as you continued to speak. "I'm supposed to fight him, but I don't know how!"

You began to cry, your salty tears mixing with the rainwater on your face. "How am I supposed to fight, let alone defeat, someone who can't be killed?!

"Ever since I met Kuro it feels like my life has started to fall apart, bit by bit. After you left I started cutting more than I did before, and a few days ago I even tried to overdose. Kuro stopped me before I could.

"And on top of that, a few hours ago, I-I-I," You stutter. "I got expelled."

"You always told me to ignore the names, the comments, everything that those girls did to me, but earlier... I couldn't stop myself. I was angry at them. At everyone. I punched Koharu. Hina and Hana made sure that the witness told the principle exactly what they wanted to hear.

"You did everything you could to keep me in school and I ruined it." You placed your hands on the ground in front of you, head hanging low. "Why...?"

"Why did you have to leave me behind?!" You scream at the ground.

Your sobs filled the silent courtyard, the pitter patter of rain playing endlessly in the background. "I couldn't even stop the man who killed you... so how am I supposed to save everyone from Tsubaki?

"I don't know what to do... please... Mom... Dad... help me... I feel so lost right now..."

Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap

You scramble to your feet, looking around wildly. Nobody ever came here. Nobody except for you.

"Well hello there!" Came a cheerful voice. "Aren't you cute."

The voice floated around the courtyard, not coming from exactly one place.

"Who are you?" You call out into the rain.

"Don't worry, you'll know soon,"

A flash of white flew across your vision. It was definitely a person. They had short black hair and wore a white cloak. Their voice was high and childish. Something black shot toward you and before you knew it, you were slowly slipping into unconsciousness.

"Ka...ya... rugi... ge... twen... six!"
