(Yesterday)
(Y/n) held up the little black cat, the bell on his collar jingling.
"I'll call you Kuro."
(Today)
(Y/n)'s day was like every other, get up, go to school, come home. She ignored the bullies at school, trying her best to shut out their cruel comments. She kept her head down throughout the day, it made tripping her in the hallway a lot more difficult.
Walking home was the only time when she got peace. She put on her headphones and scrolled through music, finally picking Alone by Alan Walker.
(Y/n) POV
If this night is not forever At least we are together

You were alone, always have been, always will be.
You open the door to your apartment and immediately realize something is wrong. The lights were off and all the curtains were closed, the only light came from the living room, faint noise drifting through the empty house.
Odd, I don't remember leaving the TV on. You think to yourself.
Your first thought was a burglar but you quickly dismiss that theory, why on earth would a burglar break into a house just to watch TV when the owner could come back at any time? You place your bag on the ground quietly so as not to make your presence known. The couch blocks the view of the floor in front of the screen so you carefully creep closer, not sure what you'll see.
A crinkling sound echoes and you flinch, hoping that whoever's in here didn't notice. When nothing happens you look down to see what you stepped on. It's an empty chip bag. You move your foot and look around the rest of the room. Empty ramen cups and crushed soda cans litter the floor. You peek over the couch and see a guy just chillin' in front of the TV screen, noisily slurping ramen into his mouth. He turns his head to look over his shoulder at you, bright red eyes shine in the bright light of the TV. His face looks bored and there are dark circles under his eyes.
"What a pain," he mumbles, turning back to the cooking show.
"Who are you? How did you get in here?!" You shout.
He swallowed a mouthful of noodles and continued to stare at the woman on the screen as she prepared a type of curry. "Don't mind me I'm just your friendly neighborhood shut-in who just happens to be a vampire."
"Vampire!?" You yell.
As you stumble back, your foot lands on a can, making you slip backward. You instinctively grab onto the curtain before you hit the ground, the force of your grip pulls the curtain open, bathing the room in the afternoon sunlight. You hear a poof and look in the direction of the intruder, except he isn't there, in his place lay Kuro, stretched out on the ground lazily.
"Close the curtains will ya, I can't stand the sun!"
You stare at him, confused. Did Kuro just speak? Your in so much shock that you do as the cat says and close the curtain. As soon as you do, there's another poof and the guys back.
"Wait...was that...are you...?" You head is spinning and you take a deep breath. "Kuro?"
No sooner had you said that when a long glowing blue rope appeared, one end wrapped around your wrist while the other circled Kuro's neck like a ghostly collar. Then as soon as it had appeared, it was gone.
Kuro dropped onto his knees with a thump. "Your so annoying I could die."
Now your even more confused. "What just happened?!"
"I could tell you," he said in a bored tone. "But explaining is such a pain."
You storm towards him and grab the collar of his shirt. "You're a pain so it's a fair trade."
He sighed. "Alright fine, we made a contract, happy?"
"No," You growl. "Elaborate on that."
"I'm a SerVamp, we find people to be our masters, we call them Eve's. We made a temporary contract that lasts for 24 hours and if I haven't drunk your blood before the 24 hours are up then the contract is automatically canceled."
"Good, then that means I can kick you out. Have fun." You say as you begin dragging him towards the front door.
"No, what's wrong with you, I'm a vampire you can't throw me out in the sun I'll die! Okay technically I'm immortal but still!" he yells.
"Geez, how many cups of ramen did you eat? It's like dragging around a bag full of bricks!" You ask, ignoring his words.
He turns his head to look at you. "How come you humans are such mean creatures?"
"Shut up and get out!" You say as you shove him out the front door.
You slam it in his face and turn around to start cleaning up the room. You had taken one step away from the door when some unnatural force yanked you back. You angrily yanked the door open and found Kuro back in his cat form.
"Did I mention that we can't be more than a few feet apart during the temporary contract?" he asks lazily."No. You didn't." You snarl.
You bend down and grab the back of his neck, holding him up to eye level. "This is gonna be 24 hours of my life I'm never getting back."
That's all! I hope you enjoyed Chapter One of Her Pain. Since I'm still in school, updates shall be slow, so I'm sorry in advance. Bye! (P.S. if my writing sucks I'm sorry.)
