(Y/n) POV

Ring a ding ding! Ring a ding ding!

You look over at your phone as your ringtone played on a loop. You picked it up and slid the green dot across the screen and put the device to your ear.

"You took the papers, didn't you?!" Misono's voice shouted from the other end.

"And what if I did?" You ask coolly.

"Then you're in big trouble! You better give them back!"

You sit down on your bed. "Mmm, how about... no."

"Lily!" he shouted. "She won't give them back!"

"If Lily's there I want to take to him," You say.

"Why?!"

"Because he's not an idiot who's gonna make me deaf in this ear."

"What did you just call-"

Misono was cut off and another voice floated through the phone. "(Y/n), can you please give us back the documents?" Lily said in a patient tone.

"Why do you want them back?" You ask, stretching your arms out in front of you.

"Uh, the Chief of police wants them back?" It came out as more of a question than a statement.

"Really?" You ask, your voice laced heavily with sarcasm.

"Not buying it, huh?" he asked sheepishly.

"No."

He sighed. "Look, I'll swing by your place later and pick them up."

"I already told you," You say. "I'm not giving them back."

"The way I see it you owe us."

"For what?"

Despite not being able to see him you knew he was smirking. "We got you out of the police station without having criminal charges placed on your heads."

You rub the bridge of your nose with your free hand, sighing. "Oh alright."

"I'll be over-" Beep.

You hung up on him and put your phone back on the table. You stood up and went back to working on your bedroom door. You had successfully gotten the middle hinge back into place but the top one was too high for you to reach and you didn't have a ladder or a footstool because up till this point you hadn't needed one.

"How's it goin'?" Kuro said, walking up behind you as his cat.

"Not well," you say. "I can't reach the one on top."

"Let me help," he said, poofing back into his human form.

At first, you thought that he was gonna do it since he was a good head taller than you but before you could blink he had lifted you up onto his shoulders, your legs hanging down in front of his chest. Your cheeks flush pink as you stutter, trying to get words out.

"Now can you reach?"

You nod and begin to fix the doors last hinge. Your face felt hot and for a second you wondered if you were sick.

"You done yet?" he asked.

"Y-yeah," you stammer. "Thanks."

He stepped back and lifted you off his shoulders and placed you back on the ground. You spun around and began grabbing the stray tools off the floor, not wanting him to see your face.

"Try not to break it again."

"Don't lock it and I won't have to," he said casually.

"Just cause it's locked doesn't mean you have the right to break it down!"

"Alright, alright," he said, raising his hands. "I'm gonna go watch some TV, okay?"

"Okay."

He walked out but you didn't turn back around until you could hear the TV blaring from the front room.

"Hey (Y/n)?" a voice peeped.

You turned around to face the safe. "What is it, Belkia?"

"Do you like Sleepy Ash?" he asked teasingly.

Your face went from pink to red. "N-n-no! Of course not!"

His high pitched voice cackled from inside the box. "You do! You do!"

"I said I don't!"

"(Y/n) and Sleepy Ash sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-"

You kicked the box and he yelped but took the hint and shut up.

"You're like a third grader," you groan, sitting down on the bed. "An overgrown third grader."

"Rude!"

"Shut up already!" you say, your head in your hands. "I'm not in the mood to deal with you."

Ding dong.

"That's Lily," You say getting back up and grabbing the stack of papers before running down the hallway towards the front door.

"Expecting someone?" Kuro asks from the couch, eyes glued to the TV as he played Super Smash Bros.

"Lily's coming over to get the papers from the police station."

"I thought you weren't giving those back."

"Long story, I'll tell you later."

You opened the door. "Hey Lily, here are the-"

You dropped the packet of documents onto the floor and stumbled back. "Not Lily. Not Lily!"

Kuro jumped up from his seat and grabbed you, pulling you behind him. A black haired man in a red, white and black kimono stood in the doorway. He wore glasses and snow-white fangs were visible behind parted lips.

"Hey, big bro," the man said as if he were Kuro's best friend.

You trembled. This was the man who killed you in your dream.

Kuro let out a growl. "What do you want, Tsubaki?"

"You remember me? I'm touched."

Kuro rolled his eyes. "I've never met you before in my life but your puppet talks way too much."

"Tsu Tsu!" shouts the puppet in question. His voice was barely audible.

"I'll be taking my servant back now."

"Not happening!" You say, throwing my arm in front of Kuro and he pierces your skin without missing a beat.

The aqua blue chain appears and you pull out your lead, ready to fight.

"Resorting to violence?" Tsubaki said, smirking. "So primitive."

"What a pain," Kuro grumbled.

He sprung forward and slashed at Tsubaki, who moved back slightly, avoiding the sharp, black claws.

"Oh alright," he said, smiling menacingly. "Let's dance."

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I've kinda been busy. But hey, Chapter Eight is now done and I'm still shocked at how many views this story has. When I first started this I thought it was gonna be one of those stories that you see, read the summary, and then move onto the next story. But oh how wrong I was! Anyway, thanks for reading! Stay awesome, stay sweet, and don't forget to smile! Bye!
