Once Azrael and I got home, he never asked me what the Shaman and I talked about. It was dark when we got back, and we even got scolded by Michael and Jophiel saying that we shouldn't wander off together because of what happened last time.

We're currently sitting in my room, on my bed, as he played with the feathers of his wings. Yep, he showed me his wings.

The motherfucker just showed me his wings just today.

"So what happened with the Shaman?" He asked, and I was surprised. I thought he was never gonna ask. But I can't tell him the truth.

"She told me that even to her, it was a mystery," I said, and he sighed.

"This is so hard," he sighed, and then laid down on my bed like he was tired.

"By the way, about Lilith. Can you tell me about you and her?" I asked, and then looked at him.

He smiled softly, and then sat up. He then looked at me and his smile faded.

"I guess you'd understand since you're friends with you know who," he said, and I shrugged my shoulders.

"Just tell me the story, Az," I said, and he nodded. "She seems important to you."

He then pouted, looked up and then sighed. It looked as if he was contemplating whether he was ready to tell me or not. I was about to tell him that it was okay if he didn't wanna tell or he wasn't ready yet, but then he spoke up.

"It was more or less a thousand years ago, when I met her. The first time I saw her, I got attracted. Like, really. I was like, hot damn, but then Michael told me that she was dangerous, and I shouldn't fraternize with the enemy. But still, I was curious about her so I escaped the Realm and went to the Mortal world in hopes of finding her there and I did. I did. I met her and we became friends. Close friends. And eventually, lovers. The Lilith I knew was far from the Lilith they knew. They think she's a deceiver, a destroyer, an azazel, but to me, she's as much as an angel as I am. She's my angel. She showed me a part of her that she showed no one else,"

"Seriously, Lilith was fun to be with. She was really nice to me and even cared about not only her fascination but also mine. She never let men dominate her, she's stronger than that. Which made me like her even more. We were so in love, until one day Michael called me. I had another task. A task that separated us," he said, sighing deeply.

"What kind of task?" I asked, curious.

"A task to destroy her. I even tried to reason out, tell them why they won't leave her alone because she always told me that God sent angels to hunt her down randomly. But I was tasked to take her soul. Take her life. Take her back to the Realm. I couldn't, if I were to choose, I wouldn't. But there is one thing I believe in. Duty over love, duty over friendship, duty over everything. Then I took off. I hunted her down, and I guessed she knew it that I was already sent out to get her. We abandoned our affections that time, as we clashed, because she... she was also tasked to get me. I don't know if she already forgave me, but I was able to take her back to the Realm, but she won't choose a side. Lucifer's, or ours. I was furious, I was frustrated why she won't join us so we would be happy without ajy care about the others, but Michael and the others stopped me. They didn't want me with her for it alters my emotions and my focus. Still, I love her. But we can't be together. Anymore. But I devote my heart for her. Only her. I only saw her again that time we went in New York. I'm sorry, Kass. About that."

After he told me that, he stood up and then smiled at me so I smiled back. I get it.

I get why he lost his focus that time. They had a hard time being together. They had a hard time fighting for themselves against all odds. And in the end, it can't be.

"It's okay, Az," I said, and he slowly nodded. "I get it."

"You're the only one who did," he said, and then smiled at me. "But don't follow my footsteps, or you'll end up having the same suffering as I do. Loving someone you know you can't have."

And after that, he disappeared into a puff of smoke.

When I woke up, I just remembered that I didn't get the chance to visit Lucifer yesterday. I widened my eyes, and then instantly went to my bathroom to take a quick bath in hopes of being early to be there for Lucifer. Even though it sounded crazy or what, I really wanted to see him.

I really wanted to see him but I was kind of nervous. How can I face him after I learned about what happened a thousand years ago? How can I face him when the last time I saw him, his lips were latched onto mine?

After my bath, I closed my eyes and felt my skin tingling. Before I left from the Shaman's place, she gave  me a small black book that contained how I could learn to control myself and my abilities. I red some of them and some chants before going to sleep, and grooming myself was one of the things I was trying to master.

I mean, getting ready in the morning is so damn hard, right? You always look groggy and have that just woke up feels. This is so damn necessary.

I then continued with my silent spell, and closed my eyes.

I felt myself being clothed, and a golden wreathe was placed on top of my head.

When I opened my eyes, I looked at the mirror and was surprised by what I saw.

My hair was in a braided crown and a golden wreathe was placed on top of my head. I was wearing a white dress that stopped three inches above the knee in front and a few inches below the knee behind. The dress had gold intricate designs as usual, and I had gladiator sandals that reached just below my knees. I also had gold bracelets and of course, the crystal that Raphael made for me.

When I stepped out of the bathroom, I saw Azrael jumping up and down on my bed, as if waiting for me.

"Bitch, what are you doing here?" I asked, and he chuckled. He then turned his head against me and went down my bed. He walked towards me then flicked my forehead, causing me to slap his arm.

"Your mouth, please," he said, chuckling. "And I am here because I have to make sure that you're safe as you go there."

"There what?" I asked, furrowing my brows. He then raised a brow at me, and I groaned. I wouldn't ask if I knew.

"Your friend's, Kass." He said, and I nodded slowly in understanding. I then widened my eyes when I realized what he just said, and he chuckled.

"You mean, over there? But are you even allowed to go there? I mean, you're the Angel of-"

"Archangel, Kassandra. Archangel. I am way too cool to be just an ordinary angel," he said, and I laughed.

"Whatever. Let's just go," I said, and he nodded.

He then grasped my wrist and I raised a brow. He then shrugged, flicking a finger upwards, causing my wall to become invisible.

"What the-?!"

Before I could utter a single word, he pulled me close and then jumped away. We were upstairs, after all.

It was then that he spread his wings, making me laugh. It was the second time he showed me his wings.

"Why the fuck are we flying?" I asked, and he laughed.

"Then how? Walk? I'm too lazy," he said, and I just nodded and groaned.

I can't believe this idiot is my best friend.
