When Peter woke up, the sky outside was still a midnight black, lit up by the beauty that was New York.
He always loved seeing the New York skyline, loved seeing the stars light up in the black canvas.
He checked his alarm clock and it was 3am.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y?" He waited for a response.
"Yes, Peter?" Her voice was tuned down as not to wake anyone else.
"Is there any way to get to the roof?" He questioned hopefully.
"May I ask why?" F.R.I.D.A.Y asked in turn.
"I, uh, I like to star gaze and the view is nice." He blushed, feeling a bit ridiculous. Sure, he had a window, but nothing was better than being outside.
There was a long pause.
"If you go to the elevator, I can lead you up to one of the gardens. You may go there."
"Thanks F.R.I.D.A.Y!" He jumped out of bed and stuck on a Spiderman hoodie and made his way to the elevator.
Again.
When F.R.I.D.A.Y reopened the elevator, he MARVELled at the beauty of it. (See what I did there? Not seen me for a while.)
The garden was like a large balcony. A bed of grass with a glass banister and a sofa near the banister. It was softly lit and was quiet.
The only thing unusual about this place was the person leaning against the banister, staring out at the city skyline.
She quickly turned around and fixed him with a glare as her posture went rigid. Peter did the same, freezing in place.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" The woman questioned.
"Uh, F.R.I.D.A.Y led me up here! F.R.I.D.A.Y?" He said quickly. He realised he was asking her a lot of favours.
"I can confirm I have allowed Peter access to this area." The woman still looked a bit suspicious about him but her eyes seemed to soften.
"Alright then. If F.R.I.D.A.Y let you up here, I'm not going to question it." The woman stepped forward and he thought he recognised her face but he couldn't place it.
"Uh, My name's Peter Parker. Who are you?" He held out his hand as the woman thought for a minute.
"Natalie. Natalie Rushman." She shook his hand and gave him a gentle smile.
"So, you work here?" He asked.
"Yup. I was just going to grab a drink. Want some hot chocolate?" She asked in a softer tone.
"Uh, sure." Natalie entered the tower and came back out with drinks in hand. They sat on the couch and talked for awhile.
"You know, I wouldn't have thought you would be this easy to talk to." He said, taking his final sip.
"What can I say, you have powerful puppy eyes." She replied with a small smirk gracing her face.
He saw the light starting to cover New York and knew it was time to go back in. It had been a few hours now and so he would need to get ready.
"Well, I should probably head back inside. It was lovely meeting you,
Ms. Rushman." He grinned at her and she smiled back.
"You too, Peter. Good luck at the competition. I've got to sort some files and train some new recruits at my other job." She also started to make her way into the tower through the door from earlier.
"Isn't that a bit much?" He called out.
"I'm multi-tasking!" She yelled over her shoulder. Peter quickly made his way quietly indoors.
As he re-entered his room, Karen stared him down from her perch at the end of the bed, as Peter froze after closing the door.
The scene reminded him of all those shows where the parent caught the child sneaking in after going out partying. There was a moment of silence.
"Who did you meet this time?" Karen asked, laying back down with her front paws crossed.
"What do you mean?" Peter was generally confused.
"Peter, in case you haven't noticed, every time you are alone, you meet someone or do something important. Let's see: you solved the equation, you met Thor and Captain America, helped the scientists, you met Clint Barton. What now, Black Widow?"
(Oh, you insolent fools.)
"Oh, I just met one of the workers here, she was really nice. Anyway, I'm going to finish my spider trackers. Want to help?" He asked his companion. She nodded and jumped over to the desk.
He finished right before he had to make his way back outside to the rest of his class.
Once again, Evie stood at the front and waited for the rest of the class before speaking.
"Okay, now that you're all finally here, let me explain today. You will have breakfast for one hour and then you have until lunch to finish your projects. After lunch, the judging will begin and there will be three rounds. You'll get further details when you aren't my problem, fuckers." Mr Harrington looked like he was about to speak up until Evie gave him a Hell-blazing glare and he quickly shut up.
'Must not be a morning person.'

Natasha Romanoff walked back into the tower feeling warm inside. While she wasn't quite sure who he was, she was going to find out.
She walked into the living area to see Thor and Steve talking about a kid with large doe eyes they met and trying to figure out something.
"Steve, something wrong?" She pretended to sound confused.
"A kid on a field trip here was able to pick up Thors hammer. Both of us were too shocked that we can't remember his name and F.R.I.D.A.Y won't budge. This is why technology is evil. We stick to the screens and become-" Natasha cut him off, knowing where this was headed.
"Steve, I'm not listening to your lecture about the evils of modern technology. I'm going back to bed."
With that, she walked off, knowingly smirking. She knew exactly what they were thinking while trying to find out who Peter was.
Who was that kid?Okay, part 5, finally. Also thinking of maybe starting a new book once exams are over at the start of May. Got crossovers of MCU in the Pokemon or Star Wars universe. Anyone interested in either or both? Anyway, hope you enjoyed.
Until the next update.
