I've been telling myself for years that I wasn't good enough and the minute I'm finally ready to commit the deed...to die...life won't fucking let me.
That's because life hates me.
I left my past life behind me and now I'm being brought back into it...
I stepped away from my mirror and headed towards my bathroom. I quickly wash my face and put on a plain oversized maroon sweater and some thigh high long black boots. I put my hair in a bun and grab my backpack from my room and bolt out the door.

I run through the streets of New York to get to campus on time. I had a class lecture on toxics in the air at 7:45 A.M and I couldn't miss it. I run as fast as I can and soon the campus came into view. I ran through the gardens and bump into people muttering apologies. I quickly went into the campus and found room 256 going into the hall to the huge lecture room to see kids just starting to come in. I sigh in relief.
" APRIL!"
I look up the seats to see Carter one of my best friends now ushering me with her hand to hurry up. I roll my eyes and went up the stairs and slid in right next to her.
" You okay?" She asks.
" Yup," I respond back and smile.
We continue to regularly talk about random shit until the professor comes in and begun talking. I gradually took notes eventually losing myself in my own thoughts.
" That's all class make sure you took notes on what I just said or you're screwed!" The professor shouts.
Some laugh while others curse under their breath. I quickly head out with Carter talking away on god knows what.
" APRIL! CARTER!"
We both look back to find Kyle and Zach heading towards us.
Now these two morons are my other best friends. I have mutual friends that I talk to but Carter, Zach, and Kyle are the ones I can really talk to without wanting to gouge my ears out.
" That engineering lecture was so fucking boring," Zach groans while putting his head against the wall.
I roll my eyes and we all head to our next lecture/class of the day. It continues like this until lunch in which we go to chipotle to eat. All of em we're talking about how their weekends went and how they spent it with their families. All I could do was smile and make sarcastic remarks to hide my mood of sadness.
They all had families to talk to while now I had no one. We head back to the campus and since I only had 2 more classes to go to I said bye to them there and head on my way alone.
When both said lectures were done I was fucking drained. The amount of toxins in the earth were vastly large and I tried my hardest to know all of em but sometimes I just can't remember.
Like seriously who comes up with this shit?
I groan and grabbed my hair tightly walking out of the campus with headphones on to avoid social interaction with people. Yup I'm that type of person.
I find a Starbucks and head in. I stood in line and type away on my phone texting Emily my other friend about how school sucks ass.
" Hi what can I get you?"
I look up to find a very attractive looking man smiling at me in a barista uniform.
" Can I have a tall Caramel Frappuccino," I say.
" Okay...name?" He asks.
" April," I respond.
" Pretty name for a pretty girl," he winks.
I could feel my face getting red so I look down and hand him my money quickly rushing away. I grab my drink and head to the nearest high bar stool seat by the window and take my laptop out to complete my homework and essay for tonight. Billie Eilish songs play repeat on my phone and I lightly hum along to the beat.
While typing away on my computer a man not so subtly coughs.
I look up to see 3 men in full out black and white suits with earpieces on. Bodyguards probably.
" Um yes?" I ask.
" We need you to come with us," the man in the middle states.
I look at him with my eyebrow raised and start laughing.
" Sureee," I mutter.
I quickly gather my stuff and stand up prepared to leave. The 3 men block me from leaving.
" This is not a request Miss.García so I suggest you come with us before things become ugly,"
I raise my eyebrow looking at him straight in the eye.
