Cally's POV.
I ran into the cave, panting up a storm as I looked around.

"Cally, you're late," Gladion, my partner noted.

"I'm sorry," I panted. Lycanroc tried to calm his breathing beside me.

"What happened?"

I tossed the Pokeball, that had Noivern in, straight, releasing him. He was all healed up, but I was shaking.

"That big guy happened."

"You can explain later, but for now, you need to rest."

Gladion placed me on the couch and sat with me until I dozed off.

*****

"Now tell me what happened?" Gladion asked, sitting me down in a chair. I had woken up about 10 minutes ago.

"How long was I asleep?" I groaned, rubbing my eyes.

"Not long enough," Glad mumbled.

"How long?"

"About 45 minutes."

He reached out and tucked loose strands of hair behind my ear. I leaned forward so that my head rested on his collarbone. Glad held me tight, not wanting to risk anything.

"I'm fine," I told him after a few minutes.

"You could've gotten hurt. You know that, right?"

"I know."

"Why were you out there?"

Gladion pushed me back so he could see my face. He looked utterly worried, and I felt bad.

"Uhm...where do I start?" I uttered.

"From the beginning." My partner gave me a stern look. I sighed deeply.

"Okay, well, do you know that Jolteon that I wanted to catch months ago?"

"What does that have to do with anything?" Glad tilted his head to the right slightly with a confused expression.

"Answer my question. Do you remember-"

"Yes I remember. Now get to the point."

"I finally cought it. That's when I heard Noivern's pleading call," I started, and Gladion turned to glance at the bat-dragon Pokemon. He stared for a minute then turned back to me.

"And?" he urged.

"So I followed his call, only to come face to face with another dragon type Pokemon and a boy around your age," I mumbled, looking down at my lap.

"Which Pokemon?"

"A Charizard."

Gladion cupped my chin gently, pulling my face up to meet eye to eye. He scanned my facial expression while I stared at him.

"You didn't battle, did you?" he breathed, placing his forehead on mine and closed his eyes. I closed my eyes as well.

"No. Lycanroc used rock throw at the ground to create a dust wall to hide us from them. Then I ran up to Noivern and put a Poké ball above his nose. He outstretched its head and went into the ball. After that, I came back here."

I pulled my face to the side, releasing my chin from my partner's hold. He dropped his hand to his side with a heavy sigh.

He watched me carefully. I don't know why, but he looked guilty.

"Are they back?" I broke out into a sob.

"I guess so," he murmured.

I pushed off of the chair and onto his lap on the other chair so my legs were on either side of his waist. He ran his fingeres through my hair soothingly as I cried into his chest.

"I'm scared, Gladion," I whimpered softly.

"I know, Cally. I know," he whispered, rocking back and forth on the chair.

"They-they took her. My...my-"

"Shh. I know. Don't make yourself say it. I already know. It's okay. I won't let them lay a hand on you," Gladion said gently.

"They killed her, Glad. Their Pokemon killed my sister, and they let them!" I screamed in pain.

"Cally, I know. They won't hurt you. They'll have to go through me to get to you. I promise, I won't let them hurt you."

"But what about you?"

"I'll be fine, little one. I promise," he chuckled lightly. "Now rest. It's getting late."

He picked me up bridal style, and he carried me to the bed we share. He laid me down carefully.

And no, we do not sleep together. I sleep during the night. He is out and about and doing what he needs/wants to do while I sleep.

And Gladion sleeps during the day. I am out and about doing what I need/want to do while he sleeps. Hopefully that makes sense.

"Don't leave," I whimpered, catching his hand, stopping him when he turned to leave.
