Cally's POV.
"Cally, Gladion said that him and the others are on their way here. Can you walk?" Lillie asked softly at the bathroom door.
I have been puking nonstop for the past 5-10 minutes with Mallow rubbing my back soothingly. It's hurting my chest really bad. I just want Glad.
"I can't stand alone," I choked.
I don't think I was homesick either. I missed my sister and Gladion. I just want my partner.
"Where is he?" I cried.
"I don't know-" Lillie started.
"Cally!" I heard Gladion's voice call out.
"Glad," I mumbled when he came into sight.
"Hey, now. What's wrong?" he panted. He must have ran a good few miles.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him flush against me. His arms immediately went around my waist firmly.
"I don't feel good," I replied.
"It's okay. I'm here now," he sighed heavily.
"I know."
He picked me up bridal style, taking me into the bedroom with Ash, Kiawe, and Mallow following. The others went to help set the table and get supper started.
"Tell me what's happening?" Glad asked, gazing over my body for anything wrong.
"It's not good," I said.
"Tell me."
"Well, you know what your dad used to tell you about those kids who are marked by Tapu Koko. The guardian of Aloha Island?"
"What is she talking about?" Ash questioned, and Gladion simply nodded at me.
"It's about that. It marks kids 13-17. These kids are then put under his control. I, however, am managing to defy him, and that is causing this sickness. Tapu Koko is punishing me. I'm scared, Glad," I spoke softly but loud enough that the others could hear.
"What should we do?" Mallow asked after a minute.
"We can't do anything. Cally, what are you saying?" Glad announced.
"I have to prove to Tapu Koko that I can protect myself. That's why it marked me and who knows how many other teens. It wants to protect us. Tapu Koko only wants us safe. He knows that you, Ash, Mallow, Kiawe, and everyone else can handle protecting yourselves. Not me," I explained.
"What does that mean?" Mallow questioned.
"It knows what I've been through, and it knows how I dealt with it," I stated. "I never did deal with hard situations well. So, he decided to put this 'Marked Barrier' on me."
"That makes sense," Kiawe voiced.
I looked at him. He looked distant, almost like he wasn't with us.
