"Ah, what do you do to me?" Ruth sighed, leaning against her locker in the break room. Today had been a long, stressful day dealing with the unrest of the children at Fairmount, due to HABIT lashing out and breaking Mave's nose. A shudder ran down Ruth's spine as she recalled the sickening crunch of Mave's nose as HABIT's fist connected with it at a furious speed. The Spanish nurse had restrained HABIT by twisting his arms behind his back and holding him there, as he struggled to escape and wrap his hands around Mave's throat.

"Shut it, asshole." HABIT growled, as Mave chuckled and folded his arms across his chest and shrugged his shoulders,

"Not my fault your tall friend's gay."

"Bold of you to assume such a thing." Patrick interjected coldly, "Simply because I do not present myself as an obnoxious teenage idiot, does not mean I am homosexual." He finished, glaring at the teenager sitting opposite him. Mave grinned and shook his head, his dyed red hair flopping over his eyes,

"Believe me kid, you're gay."

"Mave, fuck off." HABIT hissed, beginning to become visibly irate.

Then came the yelp, blood and HABIT's harsh voice as the canteen collapsed into chaos.

Despite the violence and stress today, however, Winona managed to calm her frayed nerves. Yet, alongside calming them, she was teasing. From across the hall on a passing shift, Winona would wink or give a sly little smile. The blonde's bright blue eyes would meet with hers and convey an amusement as she noticed the blush beginning on Ruth's cheeks. Oh, the angel was out to kill her today!

"Winona, you're a nightmare." Ruth mused gently to herself, shaking her head as she pushed herself away from the locker and went to leave the break room- before hearing a familiar little giggle resound from behind her,

"What, is it that easy to rile you up?" The blonde taunted, a flirtatious grin pulling at the corners of her lips as Ruth rolled her eyes in response. They had to remain professional- and Winona was making that task difficult to withstand. The dark haired woman raised an eyebrow in questioning as she turned to face her girlfriend with an unamused expression,

"Winona, we have to stay professional. Please don't make it any harder than it already is, you've been at this all day." She stated, before Winona laughed and shrugged her shoulders,

"What are you going to do about it, hm? I am staying professional, and having a little bit of banter while doing so." Winona retorted, feigning innocence as Ruth bit her lip and folded her arms across her chest in a sulking manner, "Not my fault your mind's in the gutter." The blonde finished quietly, giving a playful wink before leaving the break room and making her way to clock out at the front office.

God, this woman was out to wreck her.

Ruth could barely concentrate when Winona threw flirtatious statements and gestures her way- it was already difficult enough to breathe when those beautifully sea-blue eyes locked with her own dark irises. Despite the inner conflict Ruth was dealing with at this moment in time, however, a smile painted itself onto her lips as she recalled Winona's attempt at a wink. It was cute, rather than sultry in any way.

As the female made her way down the hall to the front office, she couldn't help but notice just how hot her skin felt to the touch- Ruth knew her face must reflect the flustered state she was in internally- how embarrassing was that? If it wouldn't completely give her away, she would grimace and roll her eyes.

Ruth reached the front office after a few minutes of being lost in her own thoughts, and clocked out in order to make her way home with her girlfriend, whom of which was waiting in the car that she'd driven around from the designated car park. Considering it was Saint Patrick's Day, the nursing staff were given shorter shifts- which felt like a direct gift from God Ruth concluded. Making her way out of Fairmount and climbing into the passenger's seat of Winona's car, Ruth heaved a sigh of relief as she clicked her seatbelt into place and gave a little grin, "Thank fuck for shorter shifts, hm?"

"Tell me about it," Winona began, as she pulled away from Fairmount and began driving back to her apartment, "Long day for you too?" The female questioned lightly. Ruth scoffed gently and leaned back into the passenger's seat, arms folded across her chest,

"Oh yeah. HABIT broke Mave's nose."

"Shit! How'd that happen?" Winona questioned, shock written on her expression as she spared a second to look to her girlfriend with widened eyes. Why was the angel so surprised, considering HABIT was forever getting into physical confrontations? Especially with Mave.

It was infamously known at this point that HABIT despised the cherry-red haired teenager with a burning frustration.

"Doesn't matter now- it happened. Also, can you not tease me like that all day?" Ruth began, a sigh slipping past her lips as she ran a hand through her dark hair, "It was so distracting and I could barely concentrate!"

"Yet, you could concentrate absolutely fine if I leaned over now and unbuttoned your shirt." The shorter female chuckled, as Ruth fell into a flustered silence and averted her gaze to watch the passing traffic and people outside of their car, "Again, not my fault your mind is in the gutter, sweetie." Winona giggled lightly as Ruth groaned and covered her blushing face with her hands in a weak attempt to 'staunch the flames' that had overtaken her face and caused her usually honey coloured cheeks to turn a dusty rose hue,

"Winona, stop!"

"Make me." The female responded petulantly, before they both fell into a comfortable silence for the rest of the car journey. About five to ten minutes later, the car was parked in the apartment complex's designated car park and Ruth was still sulking after being flustered so easily by her girlfriend- who now seemed proud of herself. Eyes narrowing as she unclicked her seatbelt, Ruth then leaned over to Winona and grabbed the front of her shirt- pulling her closer until their lips met in a heated kiss. Hands travelling to the hem of the blonde's shirt, Ruth playfully tugged on the shirt before pulling away and grinning with a playfulness written on her expression as she soaked up the view of Winona's rose-coloured blush and surprised eyes,

"Look at that, I made you stop."
