The morning alarm blared through halls, reminding us that breakfast was going to begin in 5 minutes. Brushing my hair, I straightened out the skirt of my pinafore. Leaving my room, I slowly walked to breakfast. Noticing Five's door was slightly open, I peaked through to see him struggling to button up his shirt.

"Do you need any help?" I asked, pushing the door open wider, after a few more attempts to button up his shirt, he gave up and turned to me. "Your arm will be better soon, but I'll always be here to help you if you need me." I reassured him as I buttoned up his shirt and tied his tie. He tucked his shirt in to his shorts as I helped him into his blazer.

"Thank you Vanya," He whispered. I knew he was embarrassed to need help. Realising we were late, I grabbed his hand and we ran to the dining room. I let go of his hand as we walked round the corner and stood behind our seats. Earning a couple strange looks from our siblings but our father barely noticed our late arrival.

"Number Five, you've decided to join us for breakfast today. You shall resume your training as soon as Grace deems you ready." He announced ignoring the rest of us.

"Father?" I whispered over Herr Carlson. " I was hoping I might train with the others, I know I don't have any powers but I don't see why-"

"Seven." He shouted, interrupting my rambling and causing us all to look up from our plates. "You may learn some defensive skills, I guess you have nothing else to do with your time but if you so much as disrupt or distract the others from their valuable training, you will not train in anyway whatsoever." I smiled in response and returned to my breakfast. I felt Five's eyes on me and turned to face him. He mouthed "Well Done" towards me, causing my smile to grow.

"That reminds me, Seven, if you're going to train with the others you must up your dosage to two pills a day. That is your terms." I nodded again in response, unaware the affect the pills would have on me. In my peripheral vision, I saw Five slowly turn angry. Reaching for his hand under the table, I tried to calm him down unsure of what had made him so angry but I knew that it wouldn't go well if he got angry at the table. Soon breakfast was over and Five was storming out.

"Five! What's wrong?" I asked as I chased after him up the stairs.

"He's trying to turn you into an emotionless robot, I won't let him do that to you. I want you to stay Vanya, my  Vanya." He angrily shouted while gesturing heavily with his good arm. My cheeks flushed red and I looked up into his eyes. Holding onto his elbow to steady him.

"Your Vanya?" I questioned with a smile.

"I-I mean, I'm sorry, if you don't like me calling you that..." He stuttered, avoiding my eyes. Stepping up on to my tip toes, I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my head into his neck.

"If it worries you that much, I'll only pretend to take two." I assured him. He jumped away and I wobbled forwards as I had been leaning my weight into him. I ran down the hall towards training. Luther, Diego and Allison ignored my presence as I joined the line. But Klaus gave a small nod my way, I awkwardly blinked back, unsure what I was meant to do.  We followed Mom out to the courtyard.

"Now, as Five isn't here Vanya will be taking his place. Diego your partnered with Luther, Allison and Ben, Klaus and Vanya. Today we'll be practicing combat, one of you must attack and the other must defend yourself. Begin." She announced, stepping out of the way and joining Five by a tree. Klaus threw a light punch at the side of my head as I stepped back bewildered and shocked.

"I'll aim you dodge and we'll practice defending later." He sighed obviously irritated, I nodded ashamed of my inexperience. After a couple rounds of dodging  and ducking, Klaus agreed to let me fight back. He aimed the first punch at the side of my head, I ducked and fell backwards. Jumping up, I kicked him in the shins and ran around to his other side. He turned around and aimed a sharp jab at my stomach. I barely felt the pain but decided to overact, taking advantage of my doubled over position, I pushed all my strength into my arms and pushed him to the ground. Reaching for his hand to pull him up, he smirked and pulled me down to the ground. I landed face first my left shoulder on his and our legs tangled. I have my most menacing glare and rolled off and kicked him in the side. "Damn Vanya, I'll tap out" he muttered as he grabbed his side.

"Sorry," I said simply as I helped him get to his feet. Tucking my hair behind my ear, I surveyed his face for anger. "I didn't know how far I was meant to go, I'm sorry if I hurt you."

"You can't feel guilty, Vanya, we do what we need too. If you don't know that you'll never make it onto the team. Powers or not" He laughed as he stumbled over to watch Ben and Allison fight. Frowning, I went to stand by Mom and Five.

"Did I do okay?" I asked her staring at the rock under my feet.

"Very good for a first time, I think I'll partner you with Luther next." She reminded me as she walked away to observe Luther and Diego as their fight continued. Five raised his eyebrow behind his notebook.

"I don't know if I want you fighting him." He told me with a blank face. Silently agreeing, shuffled back out to where the others were standing in a row. Mom beckoned for me and Luther to join her.

"Luther, I want you to go easy. You've been training for years longer than she had and you're considerably stronger." She warned, her eyes flitting between us. Luther turned and grinned smugly at Allison. "You may begin."

Luther slowly advanced towards me, he swung his fist at my head. Dropping to the ground, I kicked his shin as hard as I could. Causing him to wobble forwards, leering over me. I scrambled out and backed away from him. I saw his face turn into an angry shade of red. Gulping, I prepared myself for pain. He ran towards me. Moving out of the way at the last minute, I gave a small jab to his side. Embarrassed and frustrated, he turned to face me and his punch clipped the side of my head knocking me to the ground. I pushed my face off the ground and sat up as much as I could.

"Can I tap out?" I asked Luther, whose face went as pale as a ghost when he saw me. I raised my eyebrow in confusiona and turned to face the others. Five teleported to me in a matter of seconds and held me up while Mom grabbed her first aid kit. "What is it?" I questioned with a trembling voice. Touching my forhead, I felt the warm red blood ooze on to my hand.

"Oh that..." I laughed feeling slightly dizzy. "Sorry, I didn't mean to do it again"
