The music flowed through me, giving me goosebumbs and making my hairs stand on end. Five sat adjacent to me working on his equations. He had claimed the classical music helped him focus but I think he was just trying to humour me. Our calm and peaceful silence was broken with a blaring alarm that meant a mission. Five automatically jumped and left to get into his uniform. I hated it when they left but things had been worsed since he'd been shot in action. I tried to play louder, which normally I was cautious of - not wanting to anger my powerful siblings, tried to drown out the loneliness that was to come and anxiety or parranoia. Five slammed my door open and closed as he walked in. Not looking up I listened to his ranting,

"What the hell does he mean? 'Not today Five' This is the last straw, he keeps putting you in danger just to provoke me, and now THIS." He yelled as he heard them drive away. Suddenly getting serious he kneeled down to me,

"Vanya, we're going in his office. I shouldn't have to stand for this"

"Because you have powers?" I whispered with envy dripping in my tone. "This is how I've felt my entire life, you'll be back soon but it's always 'Not today' for me so just consider how lucky you are..." He gaped unsure of what to say or do. "Let's go"

"Where?"

"Like you said, to Dad's office" I grinned mischeviously, "Race you, but NO powers" I ran ahead and skidded round the corners, he raced ahead and I jumped on to his back and he carried me there laughing all the way. "You jump in and open the door" I commanded as we stood utside the tall door. He saluted with a smirk.

"Yes ma'am" Smiling back I pushed open the unlocked door and rushed towards the desk, reaching for his signature red notebook. Flitting through the pages, I read notes on their progress until I came to a chapter entitled "Number Seven: Vanya" He never used my name and barely acknowledged me, why did I have a chapter. I read through and blinked away tears as the anger boiled inside me. Tucking the book into my blazer, I walked out calmly and broke into a run down the stairs and out the door. I ran out as fast as I could. I couldn't believe this, how could they do this to me? I've spent my whole live being told I'm useless and ordinary and now I know I'm not, I'm extrordinary. More powerful than all of them combined, the weak old man was so scared he made Allison rumour me and drugged me into oblivion. Vanya Hargreeves may have been ordinary but Number Seven, she's a force to be reckoned with. I stopped running and instead walked with purpose to anywhere, anywhere but the umbrella academy. A whoosh sounded behind me and pulled me into an alleyway.

"Vanya, what's going on? You can't leave." Five said with a hand on my shoulder.

"I can do whatever I want now, this is what's going on" I snarled as I dropped the notebook at his feet. And ran across the road and to a park, the squeel of cars braking around me and angry shouts only angered me more.

I'm done.

"VANYA! I'm so sorry I can understand why your upset, I had no idea please can we just talk about it, I promise we don't have to go back." He pleaded desperacy evident in his voice. He reached his hand out which I accepted. Together we walked to a small library. When we got into a more private area, I began to cry. I couldn't stop.

"Let's make a deal, I'll try to teach you how to control your powers. We'll pretend not to know until it's more convinient. But you have to keep learning violin."

"Okay" nothing more was said for an hour. "Five, I don't think I can go home yet."

"I can't either, I'll end up killing him. Let's just walk around for a while." He replied taking my hand again.

~

"Vanya." He whispered as he tapped my shouler softly, "Hey, we have to wake up now." Groaning in protest, I snuggled into his shoulder.

"Noooo..." I replied, I could almost feel him roll his eyes. He pulled me closer to him and jumped us to an alleyway near the Umbrella Acadamey. It was three AM, when he jumped us into my room. Pulling his arm I dragged him back into the room. "Stay." He was suprised at my confidance but nonetheless he stayed. "So, what are we going to do?"

"Well, if you want I can try to train you. We can't tell Hargeeves because he'll force you to take the pills again. You'll have to learn to control it, so maybe slowly stop taking them?" He explained, having clearly rehearsed it in his head.

"Okay" I agreed, "Now turn around, I'm getting into pajamas."

"I'm just gonna, go, uh- get changed" He muttered awkwardly, trying to avoid bumping into furniture as he walked out with his hand over his eyes. Changing into the Umbrella Academy pajamas. A small polite knock meant Five was at the door, he peered around the door to check I was clothed. I shuffled over in the bed, to allow him in. We sat awkwardly for a minute or two until he stretched his arm over my shoulder. Resting my head on his chest, I looked up and gave a  small smile.

"Thank you Five"

"Goodnight Vanya"

~

"Um hey guys? Breakfast starts in two minutes." Klaus said, poking his head around the door. "You might want to not be asleep together" My head shot up in panic, climbing over Five, I half fell out of the bed. Quickly pulling my clothes on as Klaus left, I shook Five awake. He sleepily jumped back to his room. Brushing my hair and tying my shoes, I tumbled out of my room and met Five on the way down. He grabbed my wrist before I went in,

"Don't kill him"

"I'll try"
