Today was the day, I'm going to ask him about time travel. I've done the calculations, I can do it because I'm strong enough and if he doesn't know that, he doesn't know anything. I can't wait to explore a place other than this dark and gloomy house. I want to see another time, gain perspective and learn what I could never learn cooped up in this hell hole some might call a home. What makes a home? Some may say it's simply the place you live. Home is different for everyone. It could be a person, object, building or feeling. I don't think I've found my home yet. Maybe that's because it's in the past or even the future. Although I know I should leave, it's what's best for me and it seems like it's what I need to do, I don't think I can leave but there's only one way to find out. And that's to just do it. We're not exactly a family in the conventional sense, we have a mother and a father but our mother's a robot and our talking ape butler Pogo is closer to a father than our legal guardian. Everyone seems to have their person, their reason for sanity in this chaotic academy. Luther and Allison, Klaus and Ben, Diego and Mom. This leaves me... and Vanya. Vanya, she's constantly reminded she's "ordinary" but I know she's more extrordinary than half of the people here could ever hope to be. She's practically a prodigy at the violin, she has a quiet sort of beauty and genius. She understands more than most adults and is the closest to on par with my intelligence. Which is not an easy feat, powers aren't everything, sometimes I wish I could just be normal but brilliant like Vanya. I'm going to come back for Vanya, I don't think I could go a week without her soft, calming voice and the beautiful songs she plays on her violin. She keeps me sane in a madhouse. Continuing to ponder this, I joined my adopted siblings at the bottom of the stairs. Moments later, just as the bell rang, Vanya ran in behind me. Turning around, I gave the small smirk I reserved for her: the one that didn't signify an upperhand or superiority but showed my comfort.
"Carefull Vanya, one day you might get badly hurt," I teased. I watched her blush out of my peripheral vision as we walked towards our chairs. I love it when I make her blush.

Taking a deep breath, I stabbed my knife into the table. Everyone's eyes flitted to me. I argued and debated with my father until he bored of what he thought was a pointless conversation and commanded me to sit down. Anger fueled me as I sprinted out of the room and onto the street. I grinned, looking forward to my freedom that was soon to come. I heard the doors slam behind me again and the pattering of small feet. I wasn't going to lose my chance. I broke into a small jog as I heard Vanya's yelling. Why was she out here? I turned to face her, I wanted to tell her how much she meant to me and that I would come back for her once I was strong enough. My power coursed through me, normally it was small ripples of water but now it was crashing tidal waves. Harnessing as much power I could, I tried to ignore her desperate cries. The crash of her face colliding with the pavement brought my attention back to her. Jumping to her, I pulled her too her feet. The scarlet blood covered her face and matted her fringe. She must have split her forehead open.
"Vanya? Can you hear me?" I shouted her in a frenzy of panic. She wrapped her arms around my neck, her warm breathe tickled and made me shiver.
"Five, I thought you left." she smiled into my shoulder, I wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her closer to me. We jumped back into the house.
"Mom! Vanya's hurt, please help!" I yelled in urgency into the dining room as I lifted her legs up so I was holding her in my arms completly. Her frail body fit into my arms perfectly. I was carefull not to jostle her as we jogged to the emergency room downstairs. Placing her carefully on the bed, I began to bite my nails anxiously. A strange habit I'd never taken to before but this was different it was Vanya and her life, something more important than any other issue I'd ever experienced. I could handle bank robberies and high pressure situations, but this it's breaking me. I felt Luther's arm drag me out of the room. I hit him as hard as I could until he backed off and left. "It's okay Vanya, it's going to be okay." I whispered in her ear as Mom and Pogo worked hard to help her. I wasn't sure if I was comforting her or me.

I sat at the end of her bed, scribbling equations into my notebook as she lay there unconscious.
"What happened?" She croaked from under the covers. I explained to her the situation and as usual I didn't realise how my words would have sounded untill she began to apologise. Why was she apologising? Sure it was slightly idioitc and she got really hurt, but it was the nicest thing anyone has done for me. Smashing their head open was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for me... hmm, really shows how this house has messed us up. I lifted up her chin so our eyes met. I just didn't understand why she would risk herself, if she didn't think I wasn't coming back. She underestimated me too, just like dad. No Vanya, she's different, she just wanted me to be safe. She continued to avoid eye contactwith me, so I decided to get serious.
"Don't apologise to me." I said firmly, "Please don't apologise." My voice softened and what was first a stern command turned into a beg. I don't beg, Vanya's changing me and maybe it's for the better. Immediatly, she tried to get up. Putting my hand on the small of her back I steadied her back into her bed. Explaining her predicament. I settled back into my notebook. I could feel her eyes bore into me and study my face. I felt the tops of my ears flush red.
After breakfast, the mission alarm blared. Normally, I'd be excited but this time I didn't want to leave Vanya. She closed her eyes, obviously waiting for me to leave. I took this time to scan her porcelain face and flushed pink cheeks, dark long eyelashes and peach coloured round lips. Jumping to my room and getting dressed I ran to meet the others when I felt a tug on my wrist. Seeing Vanya leaning on the door frame, I helped her stand up with a hand on her hip.
"Don't get hurt." she whispered. Although I would smirk and chuckle at her concern, I took it seriously and I knew I could make no promises but I did anyway.
"I won't, I promise," I quickly replied while hurrying her back to her bed. I hope she knew that I meant it, I would try my best but unfortunatly your best isn't always enough. Reckless Five was gone, now I knew Vanya was waiting for me and I knew I couldn't leave her, I wouldn't leave her.
