I think you're extrordinary...

Chapter 8: Shaking and Secrets

When I woke up, Mom was gone. I had no idea what the time was or anyway to find out. The tray had disappeared but in it's place was a steaming bowl of mac and cheese. My favourite. After gobbling down the food, tears dribbled down my face. How was I supposed to get out of here? I don't think anyone will have even noticed I'm here. Maybe Mom would tell them, I'd like to think of her as an ally in this retched house but everyone knows that she can't do anything to help us. Tucking my body up into the large hooded jumper I was still wearing, I crawled back into the bed I'd been given. Remaining in a restless sleep for only a little while, I heard a small tap on the window. Dragging myself to the window, I saw who it was. Pogo.

"Miss Vanya," he said through the small gap. "I have your medication." Blatantly ignoring what he said I shouted back at him.

"What did you tell them? Have any of them noticed? How long have I been here?"

"Ben and Five. They were not told where you are or why you're here. You've been here a day and a half. I've brought you a watch, some books and a small torch with the blanket from your bed. Miss Vanya, if your father visits, you must hide these." Nodding, I watched the items slide through one by one. Softly crying I hugged the books to my chest. 

"Pogo, why is he so scared of me? I just want to part of the family."

"You are very powerfull Miss Vanya, either me or Grace will bring you your meals everyday. It will be okay, I promise." He tried to assure me, his careful lies wouldn't work.

"Thank you Pogo, but you and I both know I'm going to be here for a long while yet. It won't be okay because you and Mom can't help me and the Umbrella Academy don't care about me."

He gulped unsure of what to say. Shuffling my feet on the floor, I longed for music and knew as soon as Pogo left I'd be stuck in the deafening silence once more.

"Miss Vanya, I'm going to help you in every way I can. That will most likely just be bringing you a blanket or your favourite food. But I just hope I can make you feel a bit better." Giving sad smile, I nodded in response. He was trying his best and that was enough for me. "Can I tell you a secret?" He whispered, "You're my favourite" Giggling, I smiled at him. For a brief second I forgot I had been trapped by my father in a soundproof metal prison designed to incapacitate the powers he had hidden from me for years. He laughed too and handed me my tray. A peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich with orange juice. "Goodnight Miss Vanya" 

Laying down on the rickety bed, I watched the hands turn slowly on the watch. Realising that I wouldn't know when my father was coming, I scrambled to grab the items on the floor. The books were shoved under the matress, the torch and watched hidden carefully in the blanket, which was then carefully but under the covers. My body secluded it from being seen as I curled myself around it. Please someone get me, I wish I could save myslef but I'm just not strong enough. I drifted into a nightmare filled slumber. In my dream, I watched Five and the others grow up right before my eyes but I stayed here in this room. Alone, the same age and unable to tell them anything. Eventually they all left and even Pogo and Mom stopped visiting. Remaining in this private prison for the rest of my life seemed equal to eternal damnation. I was woken form my trance-like sleep when I felt the room shake and shatter around me. My screams began to echo as the walls began to crumble. A large chunk of the cieling fell and trapped me underneath it. Running feet caused the floor above to shudder and shake even more. Crying, I knew that I must have caused this. I deserved to die as the house crumbled around me but could only hope everyone would leave before my catastrophic idiocy and emotions destroyed them. 

"I KNOW SHE'S HERE. WHERE IS SHE?" Someone's voice screamed from a floor above. It was Five, this only caused me to cry more and in turn the house shook more. Of course, his stupid chivalry would cause him to try and find me. Closing my eyes I prayed he would give up. 

"VANYA, VANYA WHERE ARE YOU." His voice yelled once more, this time another voice was yelling too. 

"VANYA?" It was Ben. They were looking for me, Five must have enlisted them. 

"Five? Ben?" My sore voice croaked, the dust filled my lungs. "I'm down here!" Yelling with all my might, I tried to scrambled out from underneath the cement. A door burst open, they gawped at the door for a couple moments before Five ran to me. "You came..."

"I tried to find you, I promise but they barely let me out of their sight." He whispered to my ear. Luther had picked up the rock and pulled it off me. 

"Do you want me to take her?" Luther asked while staring intensly at the blood pouring out of my leg. "I can get her there quickest" I assume Five nodded because soon I was being ran out into the emergency room where Mom was waiting.

"Vanya, Can you hear me?" 

"Yes Five."

"You scared me. I thought you had gone missing" His voice was small and innocent,

"I'm here now, we're safe." He crawled into the bed next to me, and pulled me to his chest. 

"It must have been horrific down there, I'm so sor-" 

"Shut up." I cut him off, "I don't want to talk about it yet."

"Okay Vanya" he sighed patiently as he hugged me body. "You nearly broke your leg, but luckily you should be fine really soon" Tilting my head upwards, I kissed him softly on the jaw. He turned his head to meet mine. Softly kissing me he held his hand on my hip. "We're all going to make sure you get on the team and never have to go back there again"

"Are you sure? I'm dangerous."

"I don't care" He muttered as he grabbed my face and kissed me but this time harder and more desperate.  Holding him by the back of his neck, I returned an equal amount of passion. Breaking down into heavy sobs, I hid into his neck. 

"Don't leave me alone"

"I won't"
