"She said what!!!" Hye-Jin and Trinity said in sync. Celeste had just finished ranting to the girls on her conversation with Martina and her 'subtle' message to take back Lorenzo.
"She said that she won't let anything stand in her way. I'm anything. The bitch was talking about me!" Celeste exclaimed, throwing her arms up in the air.
"I can't believe she said that. She looked so sweet," Hye-Jin said.
"Pretty doesn't always mean that they're sweet people Hye-Jin," Trinity said.
"I know that...now," Hye-Jin said.
"Focus. What the fuck am I gonna do?" Celeste asked as she sat in between them on the end of her bed before falling back. Hye-Jin and Trinity looked at each other before falling onto their backs and laid next to her.
"Have you told Lorenzo?" Trinity asked.
"No, they're still in the living room. I can't just walk in and be like, "Hey babe, can I talk to you quickly. I just want to tell you that you're ex-wife practically said that she's gonna win you back and get me out of the way. What do I do?" She answered with a lot of sarcasm near the end of her statement.
"You should still talk to him," Trinity said.
"Yeah, but even if I do. That doesn't guarantee that she'll back off," Celeste said.
"That's very true. By the way, She seems very determined," Hye-Jin said.
"Fuck," Celeste groaned.
"I know I told you to trust him, but if she said what she said. I would start taking precautions," Trinity said.
"I agree, show her you're not afraid to fight for your man," Hye-Jin said. Celeste placed her hands over her face, taking a deep breath trying to compose herself. She's never had a boyfriend before, let alone had to fight for one. She felt stressed because right as her life begins to get better, the universe has to make it difficult for her and threatens to strip away all she loves.
"But what if it's not enough. She's his ex-wife. They have years of history together, plus all his friends seem to love her. Even Silvio, and he hates everyone. How can I compete with that?" Celeste asked. Trinity and Hye-Jin both went silent as the became lost in their thoughts.
While Trinity thought of ways to help Celeste, Hye-Jin thought about what Celeste said about Silvio. Although it was only for a moment, she felt that the two of them bonded, but if what Celeste said is true then she wondered what makes her any different. She's no Martina, she hasn't know him long, so she decided to just focus on Celeste and try to forget about Silvio because she didn't need another heartbreak. Not after just getting over one. Hye-Jin got up from the bed and stood in front of them. Trinity and Celeste sat up and gave her their full attention.
"Look, Celeste. Don't focus on her. If she wants to try to take your man, let her try. She doesn't know who she's up against. You're kind, funny, beautiful and overall amazing. Lorenzo loves you and we can all see that. So don't let Martina come in here and make you start doubting yourself. You're too good for that," Hye-Jin said. Celeste stood up from the bed and switched positions with Hye-Jin.
"Y'all are right," she said as she turned to them.
"She been gone for years, and she thinks she can just come back and make things go back to the way they were. I'm here now, and I'm gonna fight for him because...because I love him, and I fight for the people I love," Celeste said before sitting back down in between them." Hye-Jin and Trinity smiled at her because of how proud they were.
"Don't worry, Celeste. We'll be right by your side," Trinity said.
"Yeah, no one taking you're happiness away," Hye-Jin said.
"Have I told you guys how lucky I am to have met you?" Celeste asked.
"All the time," Trinity said.
"But we love hearing it because we feel the same," Hye-Jin said.
Each girl smiled at one another before Celeste wrapped her arms around them both. Celeste was determined to not let Martina ruin everything. She's lived a hard life where she constantly lost people, but this time she know she can prevent it and she will.
