Lorenzo walked back over to Celeste and Placed his hand on her back. She turned to him with a smile.
"Where's Stephanie?" He asked.
"She went to go get her daughter," Celeste said. Stephanie called Celeste to notify her of her arrival with her daughter,; however, when Celeste spotted who her daughter is, she couldn't help but to roll her eyes.
"Penelope, meet my husband's son and his girlfriend, Lorenzo and Celeste. Lorenzo and Celeste, This is my daughter Penelope," Stephanie introduced.
"We've met," Penelope said.
"It's nice to meet you again," Celeste said as she put her hand out for Penélope to shake. That was a lie. Celeste hoped that she'd never have to meet her again, but here she is. She enjoyed Stephanie's companies and since ie was her wedding Celeste knew better than to be negative. Although, it was clear Penélope didn't get the memo. Penelope looked down at Celeste hand before she scoffed. She pulled out a disinfectant wipe from her purse and used it the shake Celeste hand with her thumb and index finger. She pulled away and presented a fake smile at Celeste before she threw the wipe out in the nearby trash.
"Penelope!!" He mother exclaimed in shock.
"Why would you do that? Apologize to her," Stephanie said.
Penelope rolled her eyes before she turned on her platform stilettos and walked away.
"I am so sorry about that. She's been having a hard time with the marriage, her father. There's just a lot going on for her," Stephanie said.
"It's okay. I actually think you should go talk to her," Celeste said.
"Really," Stephanie asked.
"Yeah. Let her know how much you care, it might help," Celeste said. Stephanie smiled before she excused herself and left to Penelope. Lorenzo turned Celeste around and wrapped his arms around her waist before he pulled her in for a kiss.
"How was you talk with your dad?" She asked as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"It went well," he said.
"And.." she asked.
"And I told him what I think about our relationship," he said.
"How'd he take it?" She asked.
"As well as he can. He didn't have much of a choice," Lorenzo said.
"Are you gonna tell me where you two stand now or would you rather not talk about it?" She asked.
"It is what it is. There's not much to it. Don't worry, I'm fine. I know that's what you're wondering," he said.
"Can you blame me? You have so much on your plate it's hard not to worry," she said.
"Well don't because as long as I have you I'm fine," he said. She smiled and lightly hit his chest because of his comment.
"Do you always have to be so cheesy?" She asked.
"Only with you?" He said.
"Oh god," she said laughing.
"You know I love seeing you smile," he said.
"Yes, all the time, but stop trying to change the subject," she said.
"What subject am I trying to change?" He asked.
"You and your dad, remember?" She asked.
"It's completely taken care of," he said.
"So, No more family problems then?" She asked.
"No More," he said. The two stood there and held onto each other until the MC told everyone to go take their seats for the father daughter dance. Luckily, Stephanie's family flew down from Italy for the wedding.
"I gotta go to me seat, but I'll see you soon he said. She nodded before he gave her a quick peck and went back to his seat. Stephanie and her father walked onto the dance floor and began to slowly dance. They danced to Laura Pausini's Lo Sapevi Prima Tu. While watching Celeste couldn't help but think about what happened before that bothered her.
4 hours previously*
Celeste got out of Silvio's car with Trinity next to her and Silvio with Hye-Jon behind her. They were about to enter the restaurant when she realized she forgot her phone in the car.
"Shit, I forgot my phone. Hey Silvio, can I have the car keys? I left my phone in the back seat," she said. Silvio sighed as he reached into his pocket and pulled out the car keys before handing them to her.
"Meet us inside," he said before they went into the restaurant. Celeste nodded and jogged back to the car. She unlocked the car and got into the back seat. She looked around for her phone, but once she found it she grabbed it before she got out of the car and locked the door behind her. She walked towards the restaurant while texting Lorenzo to let him know she arrived safely when she bumped into someone and dropped her phone.
"Fuck," she said as she reached down to pick it up. She wiped he screen and blew on it before she sighed in relief because nothing happened to it.
"I'm sorry, miss," He said. She looked up at the man and froze in shock. She hadn't seen him in years. The last time she saw him he was walking out of the front door of her house and leaving her with her dad. She didn't know whether or not to be happy or mad, but the way he looked at her only made her sad. It made her sad because her dad was looking at her like a stranger. Like he had never met her a day in his life. "Miss, are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," she said.
"Okay good, we'll have a good day. Sorry again," he said before he walked past her. She wanted dearly to call him back and talk to him, but he was already gone. She would be forced to go the rest of her night trying not to think about the thousands of questions she had for him that will stay unanswered.
